Customer Reviews
Next to useless bracket
This lock is strong and sturdy.
Why then, would the people at Onguard think it appropriate to create a bracket that is about as strong as a chocolate teapot?! defined as a 'Multi position bracket' it is basically a piece of nylon strapping that is difficult to fit, and loosens gradually under the weight of the lock.
i am currently looking to buy a new bracket.
Defective Bike Clip tarnishes an otherwise good lock
I just received this this morning, but am returning it for a replacement due to a defective lock holder.
You rarely see the actual means used to clip the lock onto the bike, as it's inside the packaging. In this case, it's a plastic bracket that fastens on using a rubber-coated tough material band. The lock slides into the clip, which in turn holds it on the bike. In this case, however, the lock fits so tightly into the bracket that it's impossible to take it out again without much force, or a hammer.
So - be warned: this sale price is probably because of the defective stock. Still, it's a great deal, so I'm holding out to see if the replacement is any better. If not, you can probably work on filing down the bracket until it fits.
Very tough
bought this after a thief chewed through 3 cheaper locks..
its heavy and feels extremely robust, comes with a decent number of keys (not amenable to the 'bic trick'), and i think it has a good deterrent appearance.
could be a bit longer - usually need a secondary lock to secure front wheel.
only annoyance is the cheap and nasty plastic bracket - just not up to the job of supporting a heavy lock! I had to repair it after just 2 weeks with some home made velcro tape.... for this problem i give it 4 stars not 5
