item keeps falling apart
i brought this item for my daughters birthday on the 7th july the item keeps falling apart peddles falling of chain coming of my daughter as had bruises up her legs from pedals falling of not at all well suited for children.

poor poor show
I Got this bike for my little girls 7th birthday . After building it i found the chain guard was hitting the frame and it couldnt be ajusted, Then the chain jammed on gear change! So i sent it back! (Service on amazon was great) Two days later got an exchange. I put together looked good, but still had problems with gear shift, Problem is the components are so cheap and nasty!! Good frame made cheap by add ons that are put on in tunisia for labour sakes!!! RALEIGH HAS GONE DOWN HILL IN MY OPINION! Sorry never again raleigh..Oh two stars were for the smile on my daughters face! (Before trying to ride it!!)..

poor show from raleigh
I bought this bike for my 8 year old daughter largley due to the Raleigh name and pretty good reviews from other Amazon customers. The bike on the whole seems to be very good value for money, as a previous reviewer say's the brakes and gears are cheap but my real problem is the gear shift. It's very hard to operate for a grown up and completly impossible for a child. My local raleigh dealer recommends replacing this with a shimano shifter and I think this may solve the problem but I guess I would have expected a market leader to produce a bike for 8 year old girls that can be operated by 8 year old girls.The 1 star is a bit harsh but it balances some previous very generous reviews.
