Manufacturer's Description
Keeping a pet is a lot easier when they don't really exist. There's no scratched furniture or unpleasant messes to clear up with the EyePet - and he's lot a cleverer then a pet hamster. Using the PlayStation Eye camera, you can watch as your own unique pet grows and evolves, learning new skills as you teach him.
![]() Watch your EyePet grow and evolve from baby to adult. |
Your EyePet can recognise different shapes and objects through the PlayStation Eye. |
Kids can play with the EyePet just as if he was really there. |
Customise your EyePet however you want, with hundreds of accessories. |
The PlayStation Eye superimposes you and your EyePet into the same scene on TV, allowing you both to interact and play together. Throw him a ball and he'll catch it, clap your hands or speak to him and he'll respond - or reach out and tickle his belly and see him squeal with delight.
You can even draw an object on a piece of paper - like a spaceship or a car - and have the PlayStation Eye scan it in and turn into a virtual object that the EyePet can play with. Owning a pet has suddenly gone high tech.
Key Features- 21st century pet: Interact and play with your own unique virtual pet via the PlayStation Eye camera, just as if he was a real creature.
- Augmented reality: Watch as the EyePet reacts to your commands, recognises the objects you show him and even purrs with happiness when you stroke him.
- Virtual pet shop: Customise your EyePet with hundreds of different accessories, from clothes and new fur patterns to dozens of different toys.
- Egg him on: Watch your pet hatch from an egg and grow from cute baby to highly intelligent adult. Even his fur and other features change over time.
- Paper craft: Create new toys and objects for your pet to play with simply by drawing them on a piece of paper and scanning them into the PlayStation Eye.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's biggest studio doesn't just make games but also carries out research and development on new technologies for all the PlayStation formats. Their work has led to the likes of EyeToy, SingStar, PlayStation Home and EyePet. All of which they still oversee.

Eyepet - Great for Kids
I have a five year old and a three year old that both love this, I would say game, but really it's a toy with a few games. They've even taken to talking about the Eyepet when the PS3 isn't on and believe he lives under the floor. I bought it for a bit of fun and now it keeps the kids amused.
There are many challenges and games as part of Eyepet. Get your pet to rollover and take a picture, take it bowling, play trampoline with it, burst balloons, create bubbles and a whole host of things. It comes with a magic card which transforms on screen into the many tools you'll use to look after your pet from showers, shampoo and hairdryer, trampolines, bubble makers and feeding scoop. Clever thing is that it tracks your hand movements so tip the shampoo on the head of your eyepet and out squirts the purple gloop.
It'll even take certain drawings and turn them into drivable cars and aeroplanes. Fun for the kids and the whole family
Buy this now! You won't be disappointed!
Hey Everyone,
Thought I would write a few quick words about Eye Pet. Ive had my eye on this game for a good few months now and it always looked good so I thought I would risk buying it even though I was worried it might be shallow and nothing like the trailers. Well, let me put that myth to bed!! From the first ten minutes of playing you can see this is a well produced title as the presentation is fantastic. From the moment I switched it on we were playing for about 3-4 hours solid and loving every minute. You start the game with an egg and you have to perform a number of tasks to hatch your creature and boy when it hatches isnt it the cutest thing you've ever seen!! The animation is absolutely superb and they convey the sense of realism very well. The way you interact with the camera has been executed perfectly and im playing it in low light no real problems. The pet card works really well as this acts as all your toolbox objects and tracks the camera flawlessly. Simply Brilliant!! The only thing that they do need to improve on is when you teach the pet to draw; we had real problems getting him to see our drawings even though we used thick black marker.
Don't be fooled into thinking you will get bored of playing with your pet. There are heaps of challenges and trophies to win which will keep you entertained for hours. Whether you are 7 or 77 im sure you will find this a hard to put down experience (im 29!). I would highly recommend this to people with young children as it will teach them how to look after their own animals and bond with them. And what's more, no poo to clean up or messes!! Buy this now you won't be disappointed - especially for the price you can buy it for here. An absolute steal-a great xmas gift. Also a great way to get the playstation eye which would cost the same on it's own!! Enjoy!!
Eye pet
Initially I bought this for my 3 year old daughter , however the set up ie hatching the eggs etc is a little difficult for a three year old.
despite this I'm 31 and the Wife & I , enjoyed setting it up and laughing at it.
I would suggest that this perhaps better suited for children over 4 or 5 although I think the play part once set up is okay for 3 year olds especially the trampoline which is quite good fun.
the card manipulation is a really good idea , and my wife loved the bottle feeding exercise.
This is a very good toy for those rainy cold days, but I found that artificial light does cuase a little bit of disturbance but if you have a backlight behind the camera it helps, I've been told natural light it works perfect, the camera is also visually poor in low light.
all in all a good purchase, and theres also two free kits on the psn store to add to this.
