Pixel Plus is state of the art picture processing. The unique picture quality settings for sharpness, colour, contrast and motion are based on 2 decades of sophisticated engineering and are real time actively controlled to ensure the optimum picture quality is achieved at all times from any source. The Pixel Plus engine also up -scales standard signals and can handle all input signals up to 1080p 60Hz displaying them on a Full HD display with 6.2 Million pixels.

Each pixel of the incoming picture is enhanced to better match the surrounding pixels, resulting in a more natural picture. Artefacts and noise in all sources from multimedia to standard TV and also in highly compressed HD are detected and reduced ensuring that the picture is clean and razor sharp.

Be part of a cinematic viewing experience. The Full HD screen has the widescreen resolution of 1920 x 1080p. This is the highest resolution of HD sources for the best possible picture quality.

It is fully future proof as it supports 1080p signals from all sources, including the most recent like Blu-ray and advanced HD game consoles. The signal processing is extensively upgraded to support this much higher signal quality and resolution.

It produces brilliant flicker-free progressive scan pictures with superb brightness and colours.

WHY DONT MORE PEOPLE BUY THESE?5
Setting up the Philips 32PFL5604H 1080 tv was a complete breeze. Big icon style instructions, personal settings, all done in 5 minutes - really! The sound from the built in 2.1 surround is just what you need if you cant be bothered with cinema surround equipment. For regular day to day viewing its perfect. Picture is outstanding and lives up to the hype. Pixel Plus is excellent. Viewed many other similar tv's in various shops and the Philips just stood out. So why is it that they don't seem to sell on Amazon in truck loads? I suspect Philips aren't the brand of the moment with the vast majority of people buying Sony and Samsung. This is the first HD tv I have bought and watched The Incredibles via my Samsung HD DVD860 that upscaled it to 720p and its very clear and precise. Thoroughly recommended - give the Philips a chance and dont be one of the crowd.

Would Recommend5
I found choosing a LCD a bit of a minefield. So many brands, prices and specifications so I fell back on my own judgement. The Philips stood out on display. A little different in styling, reliable well known make with a noticable very high quality picture that stood out from other makes. A wide range of colours including the 'good blacks' you're always advised to look for, plus wide range of sockets and an on/off switch.
Dithering no longer I bought it and took it home.It was very easy to setup as following the clear on screen menu is simple. The sound is of good quality and I have to say that overall it has improved our TV viewing experience. Would recommend.

I wanted a Full HD Freeview set that would also be used as a computer monitor. Many fitted the requirement, but none were to my liking. I wanted a 26" set if possible and again none were to my want. LG & Samsung do 22" FullHD sets, but their sound quality on both was crap! I needed full hd for design work on the pc, and Philips just had the model I needed. Picture quality 5/5 for telly and Blu-Ray movies, sound quality surprisingly is also 5/5 as well (a welcome change for thin LCD tellies), and as a computer monitor, it's perfect. 1080p perfect via HDMI (this also carries the sound from the pc too. Pictures from the pc socket is also extremely good, and there's even a headphone socket on the right side for late night listening. All in all, a best buy, especially if you check the prices of Comet, Currys et al. Get one now!
