Cracking little product
Cracking little product - ideal for the bedroom - gives me a lot more space and really looks like tidy product. Looks so much better than the Technika 19 inch TV I bought a few months ago for the kids room, not just design but also picture quality. The DVD player is really impressive and looks very compact. Sound is certainly good for a product so small.
Fine TV - but has a flaw!
I bought this model from a high street store, as at the time Amazon were out of stock. As previous reviews state, it looks good and was a doddle to set up. In fact I was delighted until I entered 'Channel Organiser'. Having rearranged some channels I exited and was met with a screen message saying 'Digital service not available'. I tried to redo the automatic search - but all it found was the 5 analogue channels. I spoke to the the Toshiba helpline who advised to take it back to the retalier for a replacement. This I did, and set up the replacement TV. All seemed fine until I entered the 'Channel Organiser', when again I lost all the digital programmes.
I spoke again to Toshiba (different person)and when I told them the model number they told me they were aware of this problem and that engineers were working on a solution.
I asked why, if you know there is a fault you havn't advised your distributors. They suggested I took it up with their UK Head office, which I intend to do tomorrow.
In the meanwhile I took it back to the retailer again and chose a alternative TV from a different manufacturer.
Lovely looking tv ...would help if it worked
Like the previous reviewer, I too bought this tv from a high street store(three times and each time I had to take it back because it was faulty). Freeview set up easily, picture was good but as soon as I rearranged the channels it did not let me access the digital channels, or even reset the digital channels. It was as if the freeview could not cope with the changed channels. When I saw that Amazon has it back in stock I ordered one thinking that maybe the high street store had a faulty batch. I was wrong!! The same thing happened with this one. Upon phoning Toshiba customer services for the fourth time, they advised that it was a faulty set and should be returned. The person I spoke to also suggested that I should not buy another one. When I said that if Toshiba were aware of a fault in this model why were they still selling them? He responded by saying that "they are not all faulty - just some of them". Pity really, because it is a nice tv. Will have to look for a decent set from another manufacturer now.
