a feast of carry on5
what can i say.all the movies and extras worth it at any price.the medical carry ons are my favourite.terry scott is great in all his carry ons.a great snapshot on how british humour changed from the 50s to the 70s.

A classic British nudge-nudge festival5
A great collection that features some of the very best of British film comedies. It certainly has to be the longest continuous series of films.
The films themselves border from the sublime (Screaming/Khyber/Cleo) to the good (most of the others including Lose Your Head/Jungle & Cowboy) to the poor (Convenience/England-the censored version - both versions are included here by the way). The films themselves are great, what you have in this collection is so much more as each of the films comes with an informative group commentary from some of the stars and other people involved in the making of the films which adds a great deal. I watch the theatrical version of each film then watch it again with the commentary on and the relevant IMDB page open as there are so many extra nuggets of information thrown in as regards what was happening as certain scenes were being shot. The narrative track is also great for finding out who individual background actors are as so many are there for just the odd scene or two and may not even be named in the movie. The stills included as extras on each film are also a good source of information.
You also get the complete ATV Carry on Laughing series thrown in which is great as an extra but, in my opinion, would not be worth buying separate.
There are so many British comedy legends here, chief amongst them Sid James, Hattie Jacques, Kenneth Connor, Charles Hawtrey, Peter Butterworth, Joan Sims, big Bernard Bresslaw, Jack Douglas, Jim Dale and so many more.
I wholeheartedly recommend this collection to anyone with a sense of humour. Ignore the sneerers who dismiss these films as common, to me that bawdyness is part of their appeal. Buy it and be assured of many hours of entertainment, go on you know you want it.

Matron, It's all stuffed into one box!4

Well, here we have the ultimate collection of "Carry On" films in one splendid 30-disc boxed set all for just under 150 knicker! They are a mixed bag of course ranging from the really good, entertaining ones (Carry on Screaming, Carry On Up The Khyber, and a number of the early black & white films) through a lot of mediocrity to what can best be described as "the rubbish" (Carry On Emmanuele, Carry On Abroad, Carry On Camping). But there is something here for everyone and, let's face it, they are corny, bawdy, British and (in places) downright funny. The usual suspects are all here: Kenneth Williams, Sid James, Kenneth Connor, Barbara Windsor, Hattie Jacques, Peter Butterworth, Terry Scott, June Whitfield, Frankie Howerd, Jim Dale and many more. It seems a great pity that Tony Hancock never became involved in the "Carry On" series - he would probably have fitted right in ("fitted right up, more like!"). Still, most of his co-stars are here. These films are a bit like naughty seaside postcards brought to life on the big screen. Go on - indulge yourselves!
