Global Warning is an authoritative and visually stunning book, unique in its approach. While most of the current literature on the subject is highly scientific, this book's aim is to educate the public at large. Graphics and maps, hard-hitting text, and powerful pictures show the plight the world is already facing. The tone is serious, but ultimately positive and outlines what we all need to do to safeguard our future. It provides an honest appraisal of a critical situation, and some practical advice about solutions - whether making small adjustments in everyday life, or raising public awareness across the globe. The book is an invaluable tool to inform business leaders and the public alike of the consequences and opportunities associated with the ongoing increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide, and the repercussions of continuing "business as usual". It is clear about the problems which we face, but positive about the possibilities of averting the worst. 'Authoritative, definitive and visually engaging With a blend of beautiful images and reportage photography, and dense, well-structured information and clear writing, it combines the gloss of a coffee-table book with the journalism and depth of a broadsheet newspaper.' Birdwatch, October 2007

A breath of fresh air in the climate debate.....
Paul Brown has been a well-respected authority on climate change for some time, and is known for his fervour and integrity - with just a dash of dry humour. This book is a shining example of his particular style; unapologetically frank, passionate and engrossing. The different chapters highlight the key issues such as glacier melt and slow political progress with funky titles such as 'We Need Ice' and 'Fiddling While the Globe Burns'. The photographs are truly stunning, and, along with the fresh, modern design, inject a real energy into a debate that requires just that. Above all, I would recommend this book for the final chapter, 'What Can We Do'. I have incorporated so many of the ideas into my own life, such as less water in the kettle, switching off the lights, going for a jumper before putting the heating on... and I'm not embarrassed to say it's put a little extra skip in my step! This is a important and beautiful book - I would recommend it to anyone... and will!!
Infulencing and Powerful
I am only a fourteen year old and yet this is one of my favourite books I've read. It was so brillantly written that I couldn't put it down (read it in one night and suffered some lack of sleep).
The book deals with many global issues, not just green house gases itself, but animals, population, and natural diesaters. The pictures and text were clearly sending the message, that is to take responsibility for our greedy actions (not trying to preach or anything).
I recommand this book for anyone who are intrested or not in the subject!

"The book "Global Warning" is a useful compilation of material on climate change which would be of value in creating public awareness on this complex subject ... an extremely readable and comprehensive treatment of climate change globally."
Prince Albert II of Monaco
"'Global Warning' explains with perfect clarity and simplicity the dangers we face while maintaining the truth of the science. Paul Brown's greatest achievement in this book is that it restores hope by teaching us of the technologies and renewable energy solutions that are available to us. There is no time for skepticism: we have to act urgently. We DO have a 'Last chance for change'!"
Mayor of London
Ken Livingston
"Paul Brown's astounding book shows why we must act today on reducing global emissions to protect tomorrow - otherwise the impacts around the world will be devastating, hitting the poor and vulnerable first and hardest"
His Excellency Maumoon Abdul Gayoom
President of the Republic of Maldives
"This book is a clarion call to all those who ignore years of extensive scientific research and proof that global warming is real and an impending major threat to the whole world. The message Paul Brown gives in this book is that there is a chance for change. What we need is the will to act. It is time we gave something back. We owe this to Mother Earth."
Dr James Hansen

"`Last Chance' indeed. We must act now or climate passes tipping points with disastrous consequences."
Greenpeace USA

"If Al Gore learned badminton and spoke the Queen's English you'd get newspaperman Paul Brown, whose book captures the enormity of the threat of global warming, the culprits, and the hope we have for averting the worst of it. Don't miss this one; the fight of a generation is upon us."
