Welcome to the best of both worlds. Now that iPod and iPod photo are one and the same, every white iPod boasts a full-colour display — ideal for viewing album artwork and playing slideshows. carry up to 5,000 songs or as many as 8,000 photos in your pocket. Suitable for both Mac and PC owners.
Everything Sounds Better in Colour
The original iPod changed the way you listen to music by putting thousands of songs in your pocket. Now it changes the way you see your music, with a crisp colour screen. Browse playlists via vivid menus, thumb through album cover art, even play games and view calendars in colour. Or sync photos and view them in colour, anywhere. Your personal, portable entertainment library, iPod looks as good as it sounds.
Take It for a Spin
iPod incorporates the same touch-sensitive Apple Click Wheel that debuted on iPod mini. Use it to navigate your music on the iPod’s 65,536-color, 220x176-pixel display. Spin the wheel to scroll effortlessly through dozens of playlists, hundreds of albums or thousands of songs and podcasts. Or highlight photos. iPod displays 25 full-colour thumbnails at a time, and you can scroll through them the same way you scroll through song titles. When you see a photo you’d like displayed all by its lonesome, just click the centre button and voila. No one will have to say “cheese” as long as you have iPod around. Whether you’re listening to tunes or checking out photos, you’re sure to be all smiles.
Join The All-Day Hit Parade
iPod lets you play your music for up to 15 hours on a single battery charge.(2) Imagine: You could fly from New York to Paris and still have hours of listening time left as you stroll the Champs Elysées. While you’re on the move, iPod keeps you aware of its charge level, and when it’s time, iPod’s quick to recharge. Plug it into your computer or a handy wall socket (via the included power adapter) and you can fast-charge iPod in as little as two hours.
Sync, Look and Listen
The perfect companion to iPod, iTunes lets you easily build and manage your digital audio collection. Browse the built-in iTunes Music Store for more than 1 million songs, 11,000 audiobooks and 3,000 podcasts. Jazz, Pop or Hip Hop. Mystery, memoir or thriller. Comedy, news or politics. From reading to radio, the iTunes Music Store has it all. Download what you want, then sync everything — including full-color album, audiobook and podcast art — to your iPod using the included USB 2.0 or optional FireWire cable. Even your photos come along for the ride, either via iTunes or the iPod Camera Connector. Once you sync, everything appears on your iPod, so you can look or listen anytime, anywhere.
As for the CDs you already own, iTunes makes it easy to transfer your favourite songs and albums. Just pop a CD into your Mac or PC and click the Import button. You can import music in a variety of formats, such as MP3 or AAC, and at whatever quality level you’d prefer. Choose the Apple Lossless encoder for sound quality indistinguishable from a CD at about half the original file size. And with USB 2.0 and FireWire support, you can transfer the music from an entire CD to iPod in just 5 seconds or less.
1.Music capacity is based on 4 minutes per song and 128-Kbps AAC encoding; photo capacity is based on iPod-viewable photos transferred from iTunes.
2. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced. Battery life and the number of charge cycles vary by use and settings. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.

5,000 Songs Or 8.000 photos
The ipod 20 gigabyte has a clear colour screen that shows the cover art of the song you are playing and also alows you to play back your photos to your music in a slideshow The ipods mega capacity allows you to store 5,000 of your favourite tunes. The ipod has around 25 minutes skip protection so ideal for when your doing a bit of excercise, it has a battery life of 12 hours and a 1 hour charge will give you 80% of the battery capacity. In the box you will get a mains charger, earbud headphones, a usb 2.0 cable and of course itunes software to allow you to transfer your music to your ipod. The ipod is pc and mac compatible. One little gem of the ipod is that you can use it to store your photos instead of using many memory cards simply buy the ipod photo adaptor and connect camera up to ipod while on holiday and there you go the ipod will store your photos untill you get home. The ipod can also be used as a portable hard drive simply put it into disk mode and drag your files to it. The Apple ipod is ideal for all your portable music needs and with photo playback too the ipod thrashes its rivals again.
Great Buy
I thought I'd add my own review to this product, as when I was considering whether to buy it or not, none of the reviews I looked at dealt with my biggest concern- how easy is it to download your existing CD collection? Well the answer is: couldn't be easier. You literally stick in the CD they give you to download iTunes, when that's done (easy as pie by the way), stick your CDs in, and if you're connected to the internet iTunes recognises the CD and uploads all the information (album title, artist, etc) making it incredibly easy, i.e. meaning you don't have to go typing all that info in yourself. Don't be afraid!! Go and get one!!
Girly girls review of an Ipod colour 20gb
Ok, i recently upgraded from a tiny 256kb mps player to an ipod. I used the net to get the pros and cons for every mp3 player out there and finally settled on the colour ipod 20gb.
First off the presentation is excellent. You open up the box and the first thing that struck me was the quality feel of the device. It is a little heavier than I am used to but it is flawless in finish and really does look and feel amazing.
You get everything you need to get started. Slip the disc into your machine and to be honest it all is self explanatory. The only thing i got confused with was i clicked 'no' when it came up 'format' and I was meant to click yes. It took a while to work out how to get that option back again but i did and by clicking yes it does it all for you.
Itunes is great for cd's. You slip the cd in, select the tracks you want and hit 'convert to aac' and within a minute, sometimes less, your music is uploaded to itunes. I uploaded a day and a halfs worth of songs then transferred them to the device....it took about a minute..seriously fast!
All in all i have found no problems. The device and software are all idiot proof. The sound quality is amazing. The menu system is simple and clear, the click wheel is pure genius. The charger and usb cable all work and fit well. The fact the album cover comes up on screen when your songs are playing is a magic little touch.
From a girls point of view, it is easy to use, extremely good looking little thing and just heavy enough for you to be aware you have it on your person and not lose it!
I do reccommend an i-skin as all the reviews i read said the i-pod scratches easily.
All in all, though i hate being a sheep and going for the same as everyone else in the world, i would advise anyone looking for a new mp3 player to consider this one!
