GDB6 Review
The excellent features and good construction of the box and remote are ruined by the sound which continually cuts out at random for a couple of seconds before returning to normal. All efforts to resolve this very annoying fault have failed.

Good concept; poor execution
We got this box because my parents had a Goodmans and we really liked the menu: the "now & next" menu includes accurate current information (not always the case!) as well as info on the programme and a small screen of what is actually on -- so you can either continue watching your current programme while you scroll the now and next, or select different channels and preview them in the small screen, which is nice. The 7-day menu is not as good as others, however, as you can only see one channel at a time.

My parents had lots of problems with their box with the sound going off intermittently. However, that was several years ago. We thought we would be unlikely to suffer the same problem and that any problem would have been fixed by now (this is even a newer model). We were wrong. About two or three times an hour the sound goes off completely -- just for a few seconds -- but enough to miss a few words, which can be annoying if it happens at a critical time. The overseas technical help was useless.

The menu is probably my favourite of all the Freeview menus I have seen, so it is a shame it suffers from such a fundamental fault, which seems to have been a problem with Goodmans boxes for several years.
