Customer Reviews

The Definitive Prodigy5
The Prodigy has always been a very talented and innovative group, starting in the early '90s on the underground scene and developing from there. Across the 15 years of making quality music, they have scored 3 number 1 albums ('Music For the Jilted Generation', 'Fat of the Land' and their recent album, the superb 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned') as well as multiple top 10 hits, including 2 number 1s, one of which, 'Firestarter' held it place in the UK charts for almost 8 months.

Prodigy were so big in the mid '90s that their 1997 album 'Fat of the Land' managed to secure the US number 1 slot, further more obscure that a British act of such genre would achieve so highly, although rightly deserved. Each of their singles shows great talent and a large deal of time and effort put in, this is experimental stuff, but the formula produces the perfect output, each song is different from the last and listening to this Singles: 1990-2005 album, you will recognise some tunes instantly as the majority were used in advertisements and film, try "(You'll Be) Under My Wheels" or "Spitfire", although every song here is a sure-fire hit.

While you have the chance, snap this limited edition album up, browsing the bonus disc selection, it is definitely worth the extra £3 (which is the cost of a CD single) including many live versions of their classic hits (and the Prodigy are amazing and incredibly diverse live) and as an extra bonus, includes some brand new hits which will become singles, such as the incredible "Back 2 School" recently performed at 'T in the Park', which isn't available on the regular version of this collection.

To sum it up, if you haven't heard much of the Prodigy, or own just a few of their songs, buy this collection, I'm pretty sure you'll soon be wanting more from their superb back-catalogue.
Good news, Prodigy fans; The Prodigy have announced they are releasing a brand new studio album in 2006.

Their Law4
A good album in most respects but it falls short in some areas. I have only played the first disc twice and it was all stuff that I had heard before. still good but nothing special.

the second disc was much more interesting with remixes I hadn't heard before and some new stuff (Back 2 School was much better live, like Their Law it sounds better with louder vocals) the Voodoo People remix by Pendulum is brilliant, I havent stopped playing it yet.

The new stuff isnt as good as the old stuff but the same goes for most groups. Id have like more of the Jilted Generation/Fat of the Land pieces but I like the more punk aspect of their work. Baby's Got a Temper (the track I remember best when I saw them at Reading 2002) included as well as Ruff In The Jungle Bizness.

overall a collection of excellent and some mediocre songs, worth getting mainly for the remixes.

Stunning, groundbreaking and loud!!!5
The Prodigy were always ahead of their time but just for once it's nice to see them look back over their shoulder and acknowledge some of the great music they've produced over the years.

Okay, so we all know Firestarter, a classic. But then there's Breathe which sold a million and also hit no 1. How about Voodoo People, No Good (Start The Dance), Out Of Space? All great great songs.

Then there's the newer stuff. Girls, Hotride and Spitfire are all included here from their last album Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned and sound as fresh and storming as their earlier stuff.

And if you're quick, you get another CD with all sorts of new stuff, b-sides, live tracks and more.

In short, buy this, put it on loud and freak out!
