Advanced English needed5
If a foreigner intends to work in the UK or other English speaking countries a basic command of the language is usually preexistent. This is what the book builds on to deepen the knowledge of specific medical and common phraseology of the health professional. Incorporating the contents of the book will enable the reader to communicate sufficiently with patients and colleagues alike once you develop the feel for the appropriate situation to use the right phrase.
Examples of prototypical doctor-patient dialogues in varying specialties, letter-writing and medical abbreviations add valuably to the matter.
Good value for money, lifts you above ordinary school English and adds what you cannot find reading medical literature.
Definitely to be recommended!

Essential read for overseas doctors working in the UK5
I purchased an earlier edition of this book in 1980 when I was a medical student. The book introduces the reader to common English in every day medical practice in the UK. I found it very practical and extremely useful. Highly recommended indeed.
