Buy used from: £9.95 Maybe lost some of the scares of previous instalments, but this is certainly the best in the series. I love the Eastern European setting.

 | Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Game of the Year 2009 Edition (Xbox 360)
Buy new: £17.98 / Used from: £17.50 Enjoyed the single-player, absolutely loved the multiplayer. This game will be remembered for years to come. Kinda like this decades GoldenEye.

Buy used from: £4.20 Hmmmm, how come evryone seems to have forgotten about this gem of a game. Should be mentioned in the same breath as Ocarina Of Time and Mario 64. Superb.

Buy used from: £22.00 Arguably the best direct sequel of the decade. Pikmin was a fantastic idea, but Pikmin 2 took that idea and ran with it. Addictive and deep, two things which rarely go together these days.

Buy new: £39.99 / Used from: £4.39 One of the decades best strategy titles. Spawned many immitators but this remains the best.

Buy new: £12.99 / Used from: £1.40 Still the best in the GTA series. The size of the city was perfect and the music was inspired.

 | The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC DVD)
Buy new: £17.41 / Used from: £9.80 O.K some people will moan that Morrowind isn't in this position, and my problems with the level-up system made me think twice. But I just simply loved exploring the lush area around Cyrodil too much.

Buy new: £10.30 / Used from: £11.98 A shameless Zelda rip-off, but ironically better than any Zelda released this decade (Phantom Hourglass pushes it mind). Another example of how colour can be applied to videogame art.

Buy new: £44.99 / Used from: £24.98 WE LOVE KATAMARI!!!!!!!, well at least I did. I know I speak for the millions (ahem) of Katamari fans when I say that this is one of the freshest and most inventive games currently available.

Buy used from: £27.90 Hasn't maybe been the best decade for JRPG, but this is a classic in any era. Superb classroom setting & wonderful characters combine.

Buy new: £24.99 / Used from: £14.10 Did I mention Phantom Hourglass earlier?. This was the best Zelda of the 00's and one of the DS's highpoints.

 | MSR: Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast)
Buy used from: £2.00 Still my favourite racing game. MSR was the first (to my knowledge) to use real streets. The team went on to create Project Gotham which is also fantastic.

Buy new: £17.99 / Used from: £10.00 Oh how this games lets me re-live my youth. The years spent playing SF2 were not wasted, as I can now go online and show off my skills. Chun Li still rules.

 | Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GameCube)
Buy new: £53.42 / Used from: £36.00 The second appearence for the moustached Italian in my list. This game is achingly funny, and shows that a good script can go a long way to making a game enjoyable.

Buy new: £12.73 / Used from: £4.96 One of the best FPS this decade. A superb setting and definetly features the greatest & most shocking cut scene of the 00's.

 | Metal Gear Solid 2 PS2 - Sons Of Liberty + (Bonus DVD)
Buy new: £27.95 / Used from: £1.29 The one that Hideo Kojima got right. The balance of cut-scene to gaming is perfect, and the story is engrossing (if a little over-complicated). Will always be known as the definitive MGS.

Buy new: £16.94 / Used from: £0.75 One of the great surprises of the 00's was the fantastic return of this franchise. This was the best of the bunch and the use of time-bending controls was inspired.

Buy used from: £2.50 Oh how I loved this game. Another which used the Zelda series as it's template and then filled it with loveable & caring characters. Jade is one of the decades best individuals. Essential.

Buy new: £12.99 / Used from: £11.00 Another great return. Bethesda deserve great credit for creaing a game which appealed to the masses but still kept the spirit of the original games. The recent expansions have stained this acheivment

 | Left 4 Dead (PC DVD)
Buy new: £15.99 / Used from: £14.60 My first play-through on this game blew my mind. Unrelentless and engrossing, this is how multiplayer should be. Valve are surely the developers of the 00's.
