Manufacturer's Description
If you've ever dreamed of hitting the pace bowler for six in the final over of a one day international, or guiding your team to the Championship title, then Cricket Coach 2007 is definitely the game for you!
Your first difficult decision is to choose a team. Will your pick an English county, an Australian state, a South African province or will you go straight into the cauldron of international management?
Whatever your choice it's you and only you that decides on the batting order, prepares the bowling plans, sets the field and then tries to outfox the opposition.
Off the field it might be time to fire your assistant coach or the spinner who bowls too many long hops. Then dip into the international transfer market to bring in the latest and greatest talent from around the globe.
For those who can rise to the challenge, international acclaim is your reward. Cricket has never been so much fun!

The only one worth playing... but not perfect
This is a much more enjoyable game than Cricket Captain 2007 and its predecessors (can't comment on the 2008 version but I am not keen to sample based on the previous offerings).
The graphics are basic but that doesn't really affect the game play, which is pretty good. It does however leave a lot to be desired. I for one am very frustrated that you do not have a full scorecard at any point. It only allows you to see the current batters/bowlers figures during the match and high level score and best batting/bowling figures at the end. A full scorecard would be a small but significant improvement to the game. Also, the weather and pitch conditions hardly ever change. I am not sure if it follows squad rules faithfully either. If the developers could iron out some of these and other minor flaws, maybe add some optional animated highlights and this could be a bit of a classic in a somewhat dour and scarce genre.
I enjoy it anyway!! Download the trial from the website and give it a go.
p.s. Those that criticise it for not having the genuine player names should visit the website, follow the instructions and what do you know, genuine player names.
better than cricket captain, especially for money!
i originally bought this game on a hunch, thinking it might be ok, but if it turned out poor it wouldnt matter too much because of the price. i was pleasantly surprised! i had already used international cricket captain n found it playable yet not entirely satisfactory. this was different.
this game is a combination of the two things i've wanted together for years, football/championship manager and cricket. if you are not a fan of either this game isn't for you. if you are its the one you've been waiting for.
one small problem is that the game doesnt have the real player names but for me personally that isn't a problem as you can still tell whos who as the names are very similar(eg pietesan, harmiton etc), much like pro evo used to do for the playstation a few years back.
in short if you like cricket and football manager you need this game!
Big Let Down
I ordered this game after reading the posted reviews, I have no idea what sort of games the reviewers are used to playing, because I have to say that this is one of the worst games I have ever played. It may be a third of the price of Cricket Captain, but it is no where near being as third as entertaining
