WOW
I have never written a review before......
.......before I recieved Lance Armstrongs book!
I started reading around 8:30 yesterday evening and completed the book around 4am this morning, I literally couldnt put it down!
A Sporting Legend and True Inspiration!
If ever a book has woken me it is this one!
You have one life, It's not a rehearsel
so grabit by the handle bars and PULL!!!
A must read for anyone and everyone.
For Cancer Nursing Specialists too.
Mr Armstrong tells his biography in a very simple, straightforward and focussed style. There is a pace and progress to the narrative that is compelling. Of course this is a reflection of his own drive and determination. There are tender moments, where he acknowledges those who have helped him. In particular I liked the photo of his cancer specialist nurse and the caption below said: 'This is what an angel looks like.' He acknowledges her quiet encouragement saying that she whispered in his ear during chemotherapy that she expected him to never giver her another thought after his recovery and to go on to win the Tour - also echoed when he says that kids with cancer just want to be made better and then go out and have fun.
I think nurses would find this book remarkably morale boosting for themselves too.
Incredible Read
This book is inspiring to all whether your interested in science, medicine, cycling, sport or even if your just looking for a good read. Im not generally a keen reader but it had me gripped from the start. Lance Armstrong's story really is the stuff of legends and i look forward to starting the next one!
