Synopsis
Jo is an actress on the country's most popular soap, Westfield. It's a far cry from her West End stage ambitions, but as a single mother to two young daughters she needs the steady income. Then ratings start to drop and the infamous Richard Black - known to actors as the Grim Reaper for his tendency to hand out multiple P45s - is rushed in to reverse Westfield's fortunes. But Jo soon discovers that there is more to the Grim Reaper than instant, dramatic death ...Kiss and Tell is a captivating, truly romantic comedy where real life upstages soap life and where Jo's every move has the potential to become tomorrow's headlines.

Customer Reviews

Nice Holiday Read4
I took this book on holiday and was so taken in by the characters I had to limit myself to 1 chapter at a time other wise I would have read it in a day.
Set in Soap world you find yourself really taking to the main characters and wanting good things to happen to them. And some bits I was laughing out loud and forgetting where I was.
Donna Hay writes really good stories and I always take one of her books on holiday.
A Must read for any Chick Lit Lover.

A Hollywood Heart4
Set in the world of soap TV, Donna Hay takes us behind the scenes of the lives of our beloved (and sometimes not so beloved) TV stars.

Maybe a little on the unrealistic side but touching and a good read none the less. This novel somehow makes us feel like the main character herself, instead of just reading about her life written down on pages.

Being a Hay fan from her first novel, 'Waiting in the Wings' (another actor-based novel), I was eager to see what she had in store and I was pleasantly surprised by the light hearted, and at times soul-dwelling, story that she puts across to us.

An easy read with plenty of jazz. Funny, warm, a page-turner!

Light and fluffy - but nice4
Kiss and Tell is a nice respite from heavy reading. Donna Hay's books run a bit closer to traditional romances, utilizing a lot of the traditional plot devices. Yet Hay writes with a fresh style and knows her way around the English language - the dialog rings true, and she infuses enough humor to keep things from becoming overwrought. Kiss and Tell is the story of Jo, a soap actress. The glamour ends there - Jo's a single mom with a jerk for an ex, a nanny from Hades (not quite bad enough to be from Hell), a pushy mother, and coworkers who just make things worse. Oh, and there's the new boss - with a ruthless reputation, an ice queen for a girlfriend, and more than just a hint of Mr. Darcy about him. Oh, you know where this one is going right from the start and you won't be disappointed. But Ms Hay entertains along the way, and you love the main characters - Jo and Richard are delightful.
