Brilliant little camera -
I forgot my camera whilst on a work trip to Colorado , so to return home without pictures of the Rocky Mountains would have been a shame.
I bought this camera at Target (Department store) - it's about 20 pounds cheaper then in the UK - but what impressed me most was the quality of the pictures.
It's quite small and light, so I didn't expect too much when taking wide angle shots of the mountains or an Elk in the distance...but- the results are stunning!
The camera is very easy to use (had it set up in 5 minutes from leaving the shop) and all the functions are very straight forward to use.
It easily fits in your pocket - which brings me to my only negative point - there is no pouch with the camera and I was a bit concerned about scratching the display. Guess you need to buy that one seperately...
All in all - a brilliant camera , which will get a lot more use then our other camera - a Canon PowerShot, which is a lot bulkier and nowhere near as good !
Fantastic Digital Camera
We bought a canon Power Shot A70 a year ago in US (From BestBuy) but unfortunately it got some manufacturer defect this year with its picture output for CCD problem. So we have to return this product to the company just when we need a digital camera urgently as we are now on our Europe tour. So we bought a Nikon Coolpix L11 (6MPXOptical Zoom) from a UK store(Currys) with 99.99GBP. We just love digital quality of the picture and the LCD quality/size of this one compared to our previous canon power shot. Its really light, small and so much easy to use. This one covers much wider range than the canon even though their optical and digital zooms are same. Its just fantastic. It looks very smart and aristocrat. This one needs SD memory card which is used in many other digital cameras these days where as our previous one needs compact flash card which is very rare with lot other camera right now. Also this only needs two AA alkaline batteries.
Its really very convenient and we highly recommend this camera.
L11; 6MP camera with digital video & sound: does what it says on thebox
I paid just over £100 for my L11 from Amazon, earlier this year. I have used several Coolpix from 2003 on, and they all devour batteries voraciously, the L11 is no different. But 3x optical zoom, 6 megapixels, digital video with sound, and it fits in your pocket? 10 years ago you'd have thought it had been retro-engineered from alien technology, but you can have it for under a hundred quid! Great quality images, easy to use menu/interface with many different modes eg fireworks, landscape, action etc. I think the instructions are in English, but I can't be certain as I have never needed them. As a present, it's a fabulous gift. In some circumstances I have had high quality images comparable to my digital SLR. So, you need to carry spare batteries? The trade-off is a superb camera, as easy to use as any I have tried, but with much creativity possible using the different modes. I thoroughly recommend it.
