642 VGS Online Store

Welcome to the Online Store of 642 Volunteer Gliding Squadron. We are based at Royal Air Force Linton on Ouse near York serve local Air Cadets and RAF CCF with basic pilot training in Grob 109b Vigilant Motor Gliders. This varies from cadets undertaking gliding introduction courses, to gliding scholarships and then onto advanced glider training. 642 VGS operate four Vigilant motor gliders in which students are trained to achieve solo standard. This means the cadet actually fly's the aircraft by themselves with the award of silver gliding wings.
