Media Scene
This must be the most exquisite book ever written. Beautifully illustrated throughout, each section of Fulci's career is covered in utmost detail.
David Miller, Shivers
Quite simply the most beautiful book on a horror subject I have ever seen. With its heavy paper stock and generous colour inserts, on looks alone this book sets a very, very high standard for genre filmographies. And genuine dedication, research and attention to detail can be found under these gorgeous trappings. Rush out for a copy as if your very life depended on it.
Alan Jones, Shivers
Beautifully presented, Beyond Terror is just stunning. Thrower's urbane, witty and knowledgeable style captures the very essence of Fulci's work with a rare and zesty perception. Extremely well thought out in terms of display illustrations and genre groupings of Fulci's cinematic history, the stills and poster reproductions will have every Fulci fan slavering. It is clearly an important definitive work by a person who knows what he's talking about and who can put it all across superbly.

Gore-geous
I first became aware of the Italian director Lucio Fulci many years ago when I saw a poster for one of his films that was showing at my local cinema. The film was called `City Of The Living Dead' and, although I was too young at the time to see what was then an X Certificate movie, the film poster stuck in my mind.
I managed to pick up a copy of this film on video in the early 1990s along with the three other films that make up Fulci's notorious "Zombie Quartet" - `Zombie Flesh Eaters', `The Beyond' and `The House By The Cemetery'. Unfortunately, these video versions were all heavily cut and so were missing many of their extreme gore scenes. I was not impressed - seeing a Lucio Fulci movie with all the best gore scenes removed is a bit like watching a comedy with all the best jokes taken out or a musical with its best songs missing. I have since managed to obtain uncut versions of these landmark gothic horror films, along with many other Fulci movies.
Fulci was not just a horror movie director of course. Although he is probably best known for his horror films, he also directed comedies, gialli (Italian thrillers usually containing tons of sex and violence), crime-slime movies and spaghetti westerns. This impressive book by Stephen Thrower serves as a bible for any Lucio Fulci fan or any fan of Italian cinema. It gives a fascinating insight into Fulci's long and varied film career and gives in-depth synopses and critiques of all his most significant films (and quite a few insignificant ones). The book is illustrated with loads of fantastic colour and black and white photographs and there is also a complete Fulci filmography. This is an absolutely essential read and is easily one of the best books ever published about any movie director and it is very useful as a reference source for anyone wishing to discover the films of this genius of cinema and build up a collection of his work.

I was lucky enough to purchase a limited edition hardback copy of this book, signed by the author Stephen Thrower. It's a great place for any new Fulci fans, or fans of Italian Horror cinema in general, to get started.
Signed & Sealed
I own a copy of this very detailed book, signed by the author Stephen Thrower (purchased direct through FAB Press a few years ago). It is a great place for any new Fulci fan to start their research into him and his movies. Well worth a read!
