ahoy me hearties!!
I'm expecting my first baby and so I am collecting 'blast from the past' childrens tv and this one is a true joy.
what a marvellous style of animation, for a start, and the tone and pace of the series is so refreshing given the sanitized, hyperactive, commercialised, ratings-driven dirge children are subjected to today.
Yes there are some of the risque names that are sniggered about by the generation that were oblivious to the makers humour in the 1970s but it's all quite playfull and kids of the 21st century would be equally as innocent to it.
The tape is only 40 mins long though. Typical early VHS.
I would recommend these tapes to those who wish nostalgia and those who wish good childrens telly for their offspring.
BEWARE the remade 1990's versions!
I haven't seen them but I think I know what to expect...
