Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Thanks to Mike Myers' wonderfully rude, lowbrow humour and his full-bodied understanding of who his character is, Wayne's World proved to be that rare thing: a successful transition of a Saturday Night Live sketch to the big screen. Wayne Campbell (Myers) and his nerdy pal Garth (Dana Carvey) are teens who live at home and have their own low-rent cable-access show in Aurora, Illinios, in which they celebrate their favourite female film stars and heavy-metal bands. When a Chicago TV station smells a potential youth-audience ratings hit, the station's weasely executive (Rob Lowe) tries to co-opt the show--and steal Wayne's new rock 'n' roll girlfriend (Tia Carrere) at the same time. Like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure before it (and the later Detroit Rock City), this is a film that affectionately parodies and celebrates slacker teenage culture. It's also filled with all kinds of knowing spoofs of film conventions, from Wayne talking to the camera (while forbidding other characters to do so) and hilariously self-conscious product placements, to labelling a moment a "Gratuitous Sex Scene". Dumb yet clever--and very funny. --Marshall Fine, Amazon.com

Synopsis
Two American buddies spend their time chasing girls and listening to rock music...

Drivel, give me Austin Powers any day1
If you like incredibly stupid films with sad and very low brow "comedy" with almost no plot to it then this is the film for you!!!

I knew from the trailer that this would be a dumbed down film, but this was REALLY dumb, think Bill and Ted's adventure (which I like) and divide the comedy by at least half and times the stupidity level by at least 4 and you'll have a good idea as to how good this is or NOT!!!

I like Mike Myers, I own all of the Austin Powers films to date and love that kind of humour, Wayne's World is almost totally devoid of any of this humour, it's no surprise that his co-star for this film Dana Carvey has hardly worked in film since Wayne'e World 2 as he had very little talent in the first place.

Almost a total waste of Mike Myers comedic talents, why Rob Lowe signed up to this is beyond me too, such a waste for what could have been at least a good watchable film and something a bit out of the norm for Hollywood.

fun but not world class3
its mad to give a film like waynes world 5 stars as it hardly compares witgh five star films like goodfellas, the good, the bad aand the ugly and so on and 14 years ago when i was a pup i loved this film and certainly would have given it 5 stars but time hasnt been kind to this film,as it doesnt seem as cool anymore and with that in mind this gets three stars.
In terms of entertainment this film ticks the boxes, its quite lewd, decent soundtrack and decent speed in its execution. The script however is annoying filled with words that may have seemed quotable but now grate the senses at times, the plot is basic but all in all its enjoyable, lets just not get carried away folks in its impact in film and society.

Waynes World sucks.............................NOT!!!!!!!!!!5
This film is exellent, no one has given it a bad review and if you watch this youll see why, if you love movies this is for you.
this my favourite all time movie.
in this movie t.v stars wayne campell (Mike Myers) and his best friend Garth Alger (Dana Carvey) get asked to do their movie for money $5,000 and are sponsored by noahs arcade. theyre are some hillarious moments on the way. in this film its all the caracters being able to express themselves and their origionality. they all all funny in there own little way YOULL BE MAD NOT TO GET THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
