Amazon.co.uk Review
There's Something About Mary is one of the funniest movies in years, recalling the days of the Zucker-Abraham-Zucker movies, in which (often tasteless) gags were piled on at a fierce rate. The difference is that co-writers and co-directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly have also crafted a credible story-line and even tossed in some genuine emotional content. The Farrelly brothers' first two movies, Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin, had some moments of uproarious raunch, but were uneven. With Mary, they've created a consistently hilarious romantic comedy, made all the funnier by the fact that you know that they know that some of their gags go way over the line. Cameron Diaz stars as Mary, every guy's ideal. Ben Stiller plays a high-school suitor still hung up on Mary years later; the obstacles standing between him and her include a number of psychotic suitors, a miserable little pooch, and, oh yeah, a murder charge. The Farrellys' admittedly simplistic camera work, which adapts easily to a TV screen, and the fact that you'll likely laugh yourself so silly over certain scenes you'll want to replay them to see what you were missing while you were busy convulsing, make this a perfect video movie. --David Kronke

what a classic
Theres something about mary is a great comedy, truly great, gross out at times, very funny in others and more than a comedy at others, this is a love story and is handled very well among all the great jokes whether they be worded or visual,ie,sight gags.
The film deals with an awkward ben stiller who plays ted who as an adult reflects back on his life and works out that the only time he was in love was when he was a teen and met mary who is played by cameron diaz.He wishes to find here but doesnt know where to look really so he hires a private detective, pat, played with brilliance by matt dillion, who is a dodgy character to say the least.
The film also boasts the talents, and yes he does well,in lee evans as a two sided character that also draws laughs, but in truth they all do,clever, witty as heck and twice as good, this remains one of the 90s best comedies and still holds a candle to so much today, forget garbage like knocked up,theres something about mary is still the daddy.
Theres something about this movie
This movie is fantastic, full of unnecessary humour and great passion
The story follows Ben stiller who in the start shows how he met Mary
(cameron diaz) in high school and how he lost it all over a zipper
malfunction! He hires a private detetive ( matt dillon) who looks her
up in Miami, Florida he finds shes a seductive beautiful woman he lies
to Stiller so he gets the gal
Then stiller finds her himself, on the facing Man to man trouble!!!, and
finding other stalkers who just love mary
This movie is a timeless unforgettably Farraly Brothers classic, with humour, wit, great acting, great sequences and one hell of a comedy!!

There's Something About This Film
There's Something About Mary is one of the funniest films of its kind and you have to admire how well it was made. Directed by the Farrelly Brothers and starring Ben Stiller, Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon, Chris Elliott, Lee Evans and Brett Favre; There's Something About Mary starts off in 1985 in Rhode Island where Ted (Ben Stiller) and Mary (Cameron Diaz) are teenagers. After 20 minutes or so, it goes to the present day where Ted hires Pat Healy (Matt Dillon) to track down Mary in Miami. Full of funny moments such as 'the hair gel scene' and the 'zipper scene', There's Something About Mary will keep you laughing throughout.
