Synopsis
BATTLE OF THE PLANETS follows the animated intergalactic adventures of a band of heroic super-powered orphans known as G-Force. Tiny, Keyop, Mark, Princess, and Jason are aided in their battle against evil aliens by 7-Zark-7, a guardian robot. This digitally remastered collection includes "Attack of the Space Terrapin," "Rescue of the Astronauts," "The Space Mummy," "The Space Serpent," "Ghost Ship of Planet Mira," and seven more episodes.

Improved value-for-money on top saturday morning animation!
The original dvd release of Battle of the Planets (on Molin Video) was thoroughly disappointing, with only four episodes per disc and scant extras. This release from Playback goes some way to addressing these issues, with an impressive twelve episodes over two discs. The menus are nicely animated and laid-out, but still the lack of extras is a problem. The original episodes of Gatchaman (and G-Force) featured on the American discs (courtesy of Rhino Video) means UK fans are still playing second fiddle to their yankee counterparts. A superb animated show whose qualities go beyond the kitsch of the current nostalgia boom.
