Customer Reviews
Fine if they come with an iPod but otherwise avoid
Apple are great at iPods. They are not great at earphones. If you have lost or damaged yours then I would strongly recommend that you do not replace them like for like.
In essence, they do the job. However, with the sort of technology found inside the iPod, it really deserves earphones of a superior quality. My Apple earphones were tinny and I found them to damage easily. Coversely, invest a few pounds more for a pair of Sennheiser and you will (hopefully) delight in the results - more sturdy, a great range and a great feel all round.
Omg. £20? Are they mad?
I got these with my iPod Video last year, sound-wise they were okay to begin with, but after a few months the sound got worse and more crackly. They don't fit in the ear that well (unless I have really weird shaped ears, which I'm sure I don't!) and easily fall out. When your playing music quite loud it's easily hearable by other people, when your on a bus or something, you get horrible looks lol. And although mine haven't actually broken yet, you can tell just by looking at them and feeling them that they're crappy quality and could break any time.
I can't believe they are trying to make people pay £20 for these, that's terrible. I've has headphones from £1 shops better than these!
I advise not to buy.
Lasted longer than I expected....
I got an iPod Shuffle for Xmas 2007. After hearing about how rubbish the earphones were I expected them to break very quickly. My earphones have to be able to survive in my pocket when they're not in use. These lasted 3 months and I was being careful with this pair.
The right earphone crackles all the time and the volume is about half of the left earphone, the rubber around the actual earbud on both sides has started to come off as well.
However, for the 3 months that they worked I found the sound quality amazing. That is, in comparison with the £10 MP3 player and 99p earphones I was using before.
Also, they are the most comfortable earphones I've used but the 99p pair I brought 2 years ago which have been chewed by dogs, dropped in puddles and sat on still work. These Apple ones broke within 3 months.
Just don't bother wasting your money.
