Customer Reviews
Great PQ and AQ, bit rigid though
On grounds of improved audio and video quality the cable is definitely worth the money. As long as you have fairly good equipment it represents unbeatable value as an upgrade. Say you have an entry-level Blu-Ray player and want a high-end one. The gain in picture and audio quality with this cable will be less than with buying a top of the range player BUT the price/quality ratio will be better. You see a clear improvement for 60 quid. In the other case you will see a still clearer improvement for over a grand.
My wife who has no time for high-end snobbery immediately wanted to know why the picture was so much better (at this point one confesses to clandestine purchases of expensive cables and is surprisingly forgiven...)
Why only four stars? Because as the disgruntled reviewer rightly states the cable is very rigid and the connection to the HDMI port can come under a little strain. Trying to improvise with the cable's exact positioning can eventually improve this to some extent, but it could remain a problem based on your rack environment. The connectors sit very well in the back of my Pioneer receiver, but not quite so well on my Sony BDP S 5000ES. The connection is established soundly, but the cable could sit a little better; audiophiles and cinephiles are not the most distant of strangers to the obsessive compulsive, and Van den Hul should cater to us! But is this Van den Hul's fault or Sony's? Hard to say.
The cable clearly works well at advanced lengths because I also have a 7.5m cable for a projector (also Sony and this time the connector sits very well!). Very highly recommended, just be aware of the rigid cable issue.
What HIFI Best HDMI Lead 2008
This is a great HDMI lead and I'm pleased with the purchase. You really want to invest in a top quality cable like this to enhance the potential of your equipment.
The cable is of thick flat build and certainly looks up to the job. It was voted as the "Best HDMI Lead" in the What HIFI Awards 2008.

waste of money
i bought this hdmi lead but got a refund as there was absolutely no different between this and a £15 lead, also i found the cable to be very rigid and this put strain on the hdmi connectors.
