Product Description
What is a grobag® baby sleeping bag? - A grobag® baby sleeping bag is a wearable blanket that will keep your baby at a comfortable temperature all night long. A safe and sound night's sleep for your baby means peace of mind and more sleep for you! 6 years ago, baby sleeping bags were a little known form of bedding in the UK. Convinced of the inherent safety benefits and the related improvement in sleep for both child and parent, in 2000, Rob and Ouvrielle Holmes introduced grobag® baby sleeping bags to the UK. Why are they so good? - With traditional sheets and blankets, many parents find that their little one kicks off the covers and wakes up cold and crying. A grobag® baby sleeping bag cannot be kicked off so they help keep your child comfortable all night long. Your child can't slip down inside their grobag® baby sleeping bag, unlike sheets and blankets which they can wriggle under. grobag® baby sleeping bags become part of the bedtime routine even when they are staying away from home. Ideal for night time feeds, as you can easily move them to and from the cot in their grobag baby sleeping bag. Washing information - Wash at 40°C and tumble dry on a low heat setting. 2.5 Tog - All year round use, except high summer / 1.0 Tog - For warmer bedrooms and summer months / 0.5 Tog - for use during high summer and holidays abroad

Grobag Sleeping Bag
Grobag sleeping bags have answered my prayers in terms of keeping the covers on my son when he wants to kick them off. Available in a number of different weights (tog) they also come with a room thermometer which gives guidance on how your baby should be dressed, at that temperature, in the particularly weight grobag. This is very helpful to a first time mum like me, worried about baby overheating (but not wanting baby to be cold!). The grobags come with a popper on the arm holes so that you can adjust them for smaller babies.
I have found grobags to be perfect for my little boy. They now form part of his bed time routine, with his last feed taken in his grobag. They provide continuity when you're away from home, helping baby settle. The sleeping bag design ensures that baby does not wake himself by kicking off all the covers.
Highly recommended - 5 stars.
An excellent alternative to blankets especially in Summer (for this 0.5 tog version)
Our son is now coming up to four months old and we have never used a blanket with him overnight. A friend gave us a 1.0 tog gro-bag as a present when he was born and when we transitioned him out of sleeping with us into his own cot we moved him into grobags and have not looked back since.
The main benefits we have found from the grobag approach are :-
- not needing to mess around with trying to get a wriggly baby tucked up under a blanket, instead they have their own "mini sleeping bag" which moves with them
- not worrying so much about baby getting tangled up and smoothered under a blanket, the grobag clips neatly around their neck and arms (this is not scientifically based but the opinion of a first-time father!)
- providing a consistent routine at home and away from home (bathtime, into gro-bag, feed and bed) which I can see extending into proper story time as the little lad gets older!
- quality, well-designed garment which washes and wears well
The only real drawback (which we did not find) is that the grobag leaves baby's arms and hands completely free and gives a significant amount of movement to their legs. If you are looking for a more "swaddled" approach to calm your baby you will not get it from this product.
Search on Amazon for "grobag" and you will see a cute variety of patterns to chose from. Just be careful to check the tog rating. We specifically bought this, the lightest rating, to cope with the hot Summer of 2009 in the UK where we struggled to get the temperature in the bedroom below 25-26 degrees on several nights and it served us well.
Well designed and recommended product.
