LeapFrog has created a wonderful learning system, the Little Touch LeapPad, aimed at infants and toddlers aged between 6-36 months. Designed to be used with adult guidance to encourage reading and learning in a fun and pleasurable way, the Little Touch Library includes Guess How Much I Love You a brightly coloured, tear-resistant book that is used with the system.

The book responds to touch from the baby, with options and choices that create amazing, exciting experiences. The story is well known: the participants are a young hare, Little Nut Brown, and an older Hare, Big Nut Brown--and each tries to outdo the other in their protestations, declarations and measurements of love. This story has been made all the more enjoyable by the introduction of musical play with classical instrument sounds and mind-building rhythms. This is done by using well known instruments such as the piano, trumpet and drums, and lesser-know ones including the marimba, harp and cello. There are many early learning benefits, including language development, problem-solving, musical appreciation, and early reading skills. The book contains excellent instructions which are straightforward and easy to follow and there are suggestions on how to extend the learning process.

There are three learning settings: "Music", "Word Play" and "Laugh & Learn", to vary the learning experience. Also provided are activity cards which have simple operating instructions and are intended to be used for independent learning. NB: it is essential to ensure that the book is firmly snapped into the Little Touch and the story cartridge is inserted correctly or the process will not work.
