Little Touch Leappad3
I've never used a Leappad before but ended up buying one for each of my children as they have been recommended so much. I bought the normal Leappad for my 4 year old and the Little Touch for my 16 month old. I was very impressed with the Leappad but a little disappointed with the Little Touch. The hardware itself is an attractive pink sturdy and robust plastic with a fixed carrying handle and a removable lap cushion but it's let down by the badly designed paper books. I am unable to leave my daughter to play by herself because she would destroy the flimsy paper books straight away. When I first turned it on, she was more interested in flipping the pages and fiddling with the volume control (which is thoughtlessly positioned) and trying to turn it off! In the Little Touch's defence you have to hold down the on/off switch to turn it off which she hasn't worked out yet thankfully.

The book that came with the Little Touch is fun and easy to use. My daughter was unable to follow the instructions but enjoyed pressing the buttons and the pictures. Unlike the model for older children, the Little Touch is operated by finger rather then by stylus. When my son was playing with his, my daughter was more interested in his Leappad then hers! Suggest using them in different rooms especially as they are really noisy!

I can't give the Little Touch a higher score but hope with time it will grow on me and my daughter will get some educational enjoyment out of it.

Don't believe the hype !3
I purchased this product for my daughters 1st birthday & thought she would love it. She didn't !
This is quite an expensive toy, especially when you start purchasing all the extra books (as I did !) so I'd just advise you to think hard before purchasing.
I agree with the other reviewer about the books being a bit flimsy too, I think they could easily get damaged.
Also, it is recommended for babies from 6 months plus, but I wouldn't have thought it would keep a baby of that age entertained as babies tend to like to hold things & chew them rather than just look ! I do think that older children might enjoy playing with it though.
My little one does love books but the LeapPad Littletouch just didn't do anything for her. It looks lovely & makes nice tunes etc, but personally I think its an overpriced toy which I regretted buying.

Hours of entertainment4
Having just read the previous reviews I am surprised to hear all the negative feedback. My daughter received this as a 1st birthday present, I wasn't at all sure about it at first, didn't think she'd get the hang of it but she has had hours of fun with it. She quickly got the hang of touching the page to get a sound and then as she got older, she understood the concept of pressing the green 'button' as you turn the page. With regards to the pages, I didn't feel they were flimsy - they're tearproof aren't they?
I like the way the books have different levels so that the toy grows as your child does, so for me that's money well spent. Also the fact that you can take it anywhere - it's excellent in the car on long journeys. She's now 3 years old, still gets fun out of it - especially the alphabet book and we are about to buy one for her 1 year old cousin.
