Stunning watch
Firstly, I admit to being a bit of a watch nerd and I often annoy the wife when she's dragging me around the shops in search of shoes by wandering off and gazing in to jewelers shop windows until she spots me and hauls me away.
This year I thought I was justified in redressing the balance on her excessive footwear expenditure by getting myself a decent looking work watch.
I spent ages going from shop to shop trying loads of stuff on and never being completely satisfied although I was quite impressed by some of the top end Skagens. That lead me to find this watch on Amazon and it looked spot on and so thought I could always return it if wasn't right.
I'm glad I did as its a great looking watch and has already drawn loads of positive comments. Has the quality feel of one of the up market brands and reminds me a bit of a Tag or an Oris. I know it sounds a bit daft but so many watches look great until you put them on a wrist (and thats the danger of buying watches off the internet) whereas this one just sits perfectly - the face is slightly elliptical and it isn't so big that it dwarfs my skinny wrists like so many other watches do. The two tone strap is the main eye catching feature of the watch (the black is actually mat dark grey and not gloss like the photo suggests) and the face is not overly busy with fusy text or patterns to detract and as a result looks very clean.
The only negative points are the date dial is a bit impractical from the 15th to the 31st as the notches are so squeezed but a conventional date window would detract from the balanced, aesthetic look. Also by comparison this is still a thin watch (I would guess 10mm) but its not super skinny like most of the other Skagens if that's what you're expecting. Otherwise to other fellow watch nerds I'd say well worth a look!
Great
Very nice watch. Wasn't quite sure at first, but does look great. Hope it does fullfill expectations as it is a present.
