Love it.
I have had this butter dish for some time and I adore it. I haven't experienced the problems with the smell. I haven't even noticed that the wooden lid has a smell to be honest! It is a huge dish and can quite easily accomodate a 500g block of butter with room to spare. The design of it envokes a traditional feeling, whilest fitting in perfectly with my contemporary kitchen.

I adore this butter dish (a trifle over the top though the title might seem!)
I recieved one of these for Christmas and it makes me smile whenever I use it. It feels lovely and is designed beautifully. Highly recommended.

Stylish and spacey
This nice things about this (aside from looking pretty) are that it's a deep dish with a lid (not a plate with a cover, like a traditional butter dish would be) and that it's very big. You can easily fit several block of butter into it and it takes both the "normal" kind and US-style sticks. Because it's an actual dish (not a plate), there's no risk of dropping the butter when trying to get it out of the fridge. The downside? The price.
