Manufacturer's Description
HEPA Filteration: DC11 HEPA models are equipped with a lifetime HEPA post-motor filter specially designed to retain the highest level of microscopic particles. The 310,000mm2 HEPA filter includes a bacteria-killing screen. This combination not only captures harmful particles such as cigarette smoke, but it also traps bacteria on contact.

Root12 Cyclone technology: A Dyson cyclone spins air at high speed. Dirt and dust are thrown out of the airflow and collected in the bin, not on filters or bags. So unlike other vacuums, Dyson doesn't clog and lose suction, so it picks up more dirt.

Dyson Turbine Head: No need to change tools - brushbar turns on and off for better pick-up on hard floors and carpets.

Smallest package: No unwieldy wand or hose to fall over.

Smallest space: Unlike other machines, it stores tidily out of the way.

Hygienic and quick to empty: Just press the button - avoid contact with the dirt.

No running costs: The pre-motor filter removes particles down to 0.1 micron and is washable. The post-motor electrostatic filter traps harmful carbon emissions from the motor. This filter never needs replacing.

BAF Seal of Approval: The British Allergy Foundation aims to improve awareness of and treatment of allergies and advises people of allergy-friendly products to buy.

Tools on board: Tools on board for rapid tool access.

Car cleaning: For easier cleaning in confined areas, the tools can be fitted directly to the end of the wand.

Suction release trigger: The suction release trigger reduces suction, so that you can clean curtains, upholstery or delicate rugs without them sticking to the cleaner. No need to bend down to adjust dials or switches.

Durable tough construction: Made from the strongest materials avaliable to withstand bumps and bashes.

Protective rubber wheels: Kinder to delicate surfaces.

Clear bin: Clear bin - no bags to buy.

  • You can see how well the Dyson works
  • You can always tell when it's full
  • It's easy to empty
  • You can retrieve lost objects

Parking yoke: The Dyson Turbine Head slides securely in to the parking yoke at the back of the DC11 for stable and convenient storage.

    2 Year guarantee.

A great vacuum but not with out its flaws.3
The DC 11 Alergy is an amazing vacuume cleaner. Prior to testing it I had vaduumed the floors with my existing cleaner and the DC 11 was still able to pick up a sizable ammount of dust.

There are a few downsides to it:
    - Despite the claim of a one handed emptying system, I found I had to dismantle the container to get all the dirt into the bin.
    - The hose is very short (300cm) and as a result made it akward to maneuver.
    - It does not cope well with large objects due to the rotary brush
    - The biggest issue is that any long hair it picks up gets wrapped around the rotary brush, instead of getting picked up.

The last point was the main reason I recurned this and got the DC 08TW Allergy.

    Not brilliant at times3
Having had 4 replacement turbine heads for mine, which to be fair as its under the Dyson 2 yrs warranty, have all been free, this has still left me feeling this vacuum isnt the one for me. When its working well, it does do a good job, but I find that some dogs hairs are still left in the carpet. And after 3-4 months, it dies a death and Dyson have to send their Engineer out to me again, to order yet another head! You can see it grooming your carpets, and the suction is huge. Overall, I would recommend this model, as maybe mine is just a troubled machine, and the Dyson Cutomer Service is excellent. But alas, its time for me to move on and I am going to try a Henry vacuum.

    Clean carpets at last!5
A super cleaner, have had countless ones before (different makes never a Dyson as thought that they were too expensive, but the cost over the years is more in buying the cheaper ones then them not functioning properly) all seem to last about 12 months (usually when warranty runs out).

It was an easy machine to put together and in no time at all it was up and running, amazing to see just how much dirt it picks up, I now realise that the other previous ones did not do a good job, saying that though even after cleaning with the Dyson each day, it still manages to fill up easily, it makes you wonder where it all comes from, and the carpets look in a lot better condition too.

I bought this one as it can also be used on all floor surfaces, as you do not want to be using one cleaner than changing for another half way through cleaning your rooms. This is ideal with the extra head (purchased separatley) for hard floors, it does smooth tiles and rough tiles a treat.

Easy to clean and no messy bags to buy (saving money) or change, just empty into the bin and clean again.

Storage is also an issue usually with a cleaner but this one has it covered, it all wraps around its self, and can easily fit under a kitchen sink cupboard or wardrobe.

A doddle to use on the stairs as the wire is quite long in length which is an important point to consider when thinking of buying a new cleaner, as some as shorter. Also not too heavy to lift upstairs even for a dainty person.

Brilliant at picking up dog hair on all surfaces which to me is important.

After two months use the head seemed to stop going round as fast, called Dyson and they said that they had changed the head tool design (now has red bristles) and would send a new one free of charge. (Which they did within the week). Pretty good actually.

I have had mine now for 2 years and yes it still works just as good as when first purchased (it is helpful also having the two year free guarantee, as the engineers as really helpful, showed me how to take head apart and remove any cotton from around metal pins, which it doesn't show in the manual).

Just wished that I had bought one years ago when they first came out, as I have probably paid more in the long run with all the other models.

Tesco was the cheapest when mine was purchased, plus you also get clubcard points, so you feel as though you are getting something back, also worth checking is Boots.com and other internet sites.

I was so impressed with mine that even got my parents one.
