    Good value for money.4
Bought this as a gift for my parents to replace their CRT TV. Very good picture with plenty of options to adjust to your preference. Plugged strait into the existing Sony home cinema system DVD recorder and Sky+ with no hassle and the self set-up is a breeze. Now for the useful hints.

    1. If you are not sure if this will be too big/small for your room, the dimensions are approx. 900mm x 640mm (that's 36" x 26" ish for us none metric types :o) with the stand fitted.

    2. It can be set up by one person, but it is easier (and safer) to get it out the box with 2 people. Handle it by the edges as the screen is not as tough as a glass screen.

    3. Clear a dining table and put a bath towel on it. This makes fitting the stand far easier.

    4. The set comes with no connecting cables (other than power), so you need to have either scart leads (or HDMI leads for connection to HD equipment).

    5. Amazon's express delivery is good value and VERY snappy, i.e. when they say before 1pm delivery next day, they mean it.

Why only 4 stars? I had to send the first one back due to a screen fault that, judging by the lack of damage to the packaging, should have been picked up at the factory. Amazon had no issue replacing the unit, though the on-line return form was a little vague. Also, the replacement came by standard delivery (6 days) which kind of defeats the object of paying for express delivery in the first place (hint, hint Amazon).

    Well Chuffed!!5
I looked around lots before finally getting this , theres so much competition around this price range so i have to say some of the reviews here helped me out.Well i have to confirm that its a great tv and packed with all the features i wanted to compliment my current av setup.
Initial setup is a breeze and even with an indoor aerial(although a good one) it found all the freeview channels i know of. I had a freeview box before and the signal was never as stable on that as it is on this tv so i have to give the digital tuner a thumbs up. The EPG is good and i found it pretty responsive unlike my old box. There is an analogue tuner built in too for those who struggle with digital receptions. The unit comes with plenty of connectivity with 2 scart, 3 hdmi (although 1 is on side which i dont like), component , svideo and vga. All the ones i have used produce a really good picture but it wasnt until i hooked my ps3 up to the hdmi port that i realised just how good it was. The ps3 looks absolutely crisp on it and watching a bluray film in 1080p (and 24fps)gave as good a visual as ive seen especially after finding some colour tweaks for optimum tv settings off avforums.
All in all i am really pleased with the purchase and while im sure the expensive top end tvs out there have even better picture quality i dont think for the money you can go wrong.

    Very Satisfied5
I spent a great deal of time researching 37 inch full HD Lcd's and finally settled on this Toshiba 37XV505D (same spec as the 503D but slightly different cosmetically). For the price this TV is outstanding value. Feed a decent quality signal in this and the results are very, very good. Setting up the TV for Freeview is simple and takes a couple of minutes. The SD quality on Freewview is very good, watching CBeebies on chanel 71 with my grandchildren shows just how good this TV is. Sky+ SD quality is also good especially the sport channels. Hooking this up to SKY HD is something I am looking forward to. It does take a bit of time to get the picture set up to your preference but its well worth it. Dont leave it set on the default Dynamic-User settings, they are way over the top. The sound is not the best but its not that bad. There is plenty of volume there but the vocals sound a bit muffled for want of a better word. I was dissapointed in that the Digital Optical output is only from the DTV (Freeview) Source. I have a Toshiba HD EP30 Dvd hooked up to this and the full HD picture is breathtaking. This set was recently given a best buy in one of the TV review magazines which meant that demand has increased for this unit. If you buy this you will not be dissapointed.

Edit to add:::: - Have hooked SKY+ HD and the picture is amazing !
