Customer Reviews

Never seen a better 19" screen.5
I visited Amazon today on purpose to review this TV.

I got this TV for christmas but I picked it out. I chose it because of the good specification and brand name and wasn't dissappoointed.

Picture: The TV has beautiful colour reproduction, brightness, great motion tracking and the picture looks amazing whatever you throw at it.
I am continually impressed with the picture whether I am playing blu-ray, dvd or analogue tv. I would recommend it on this basis alone. We have a lot of 19" screens in the house now, most of them are cheap acoustic solutions models, but some are Philips as well. This TV blows them all away and looks even better than my brothers 19" Samsung which is only a year old. I think it is well worth the extra outlay to get 15000:1 contrast and 380cdm2 brightness.

Sound: The sound is really good considering that it has no visible speakers and sound comes from an invisible point on the front of the TV. I wasn't expecting much from the sound but I find that it fills the room and impresses me quite well: 3.5/5. I noticed that the sound is really good when you output it from your hifi instead.

Menus: The menus really blow you away. You can tune individual analogue / digital channels or use auto tune. Each channel can be retuned or ignored for programme +- buttons. The interface is very easy to use. The info button is particularly useful as it will tell you the resolution of any input, for example 567i SD for DVD or 720p for blu-ray. The ratio button is also very handy, which has lots of modes such as 16:9, 4:3, 14:9 or zoom 1 & 2. If you've had TVs in the past which left large black bars then you will never have this problem again.

Inputs: The TV supports component, 2x scarts, 2 x HDMI, composite (3 pin input), aerial, digital out, VGA in for pc. There are more connections then I could name, there is even a PCMCIA pc card slot for some reason!

Finish: The TV is glossy and looks great. The buttons are all along the top rather than the side which for me is an improvement. The remote control is of very high quality and reminds me of the new Panasonic ones which hifi magazines have been raving about for a while. It is very clearly laid out. My only gripe with the remote is that it could be a little longer but it is designed as a bedroom TV.

Other: The auto tune tunes in digital and analogue simulataneously. Some other models feel like the tv is divided into two sections but the two feel blended into one unified package on this TV.

Despite having no digital in our area yet, the tv managed to tune the channels anyway. We can get the EPG for each channel which is very nice to use.

Bad points: Channels can't be easily removed. Analogue channels start at 900 (analogue is going out after all) and sometimes the tv tunes in channels with poor reception automatically. Picture can sometimes look a tiny bit dark, increasing the brightness is necessary on some inputs such as XBOX but out of the box the picture is almost flawless.

I highly recommend this TV, I find it almost impossible to fault. It has been responsibly and intelligently laid out and exceeds even the highest expectations.

Fantastic small TV5
I bought this television for use in my university room. One thing which made this TV stand out was it's very high contrast ratio. This makes a big difference in picture qality. When it arrived it was easily set up within 10-15 minutes, and a few minutes for it to be tuned. Once up and running the picture quality is really good as is the sound. I also use it to play on an xbox 360, using a HDMI cable. The qulity through this is also really good on 720p. A TV this size will never be as good as a larger one due to the limitations of size, but it is easily one of the best TV's for it's size.

Overall, I am really pleased with this, and woild highly reccomend it to anyone interested in buying a small TV.

Sounds disappoint4
Bought this LG tv to replace a panasonic which had done me proud for many years but had reached its sell by date.On opening, was impressed with appearance & was easy to set up. Picture was very good but as soon as i turned up the sound i was disappointed. I koow i should not have expected too much from a 19 inch model but i could'nt seem to get any depth of sound at all! To solve this problem i have recently purchased an external speaker system to get the sound i want! Very good tv but expected better sound quality!
