Manufacturer's Description
The Spin & Explore Garden Gym from Lamaze puts a unique spin on tummy time play. The play mat acts as a grow-with-me feature as baby will continue to enjoy exploring the multiple textures. It introduces a new format for one of the key developmental phases of a newborn, providing an innovative, fun platform for encouraging exploration, developing upper body strength and lower leg development through a unique shape and rotating motion. Babies can gently and comfortably spin round on their upper bodies while exploring lots of squeaky, crinkly, tactile fun. Remove the spinner once baby sits up, and the fun and learning go on and on. Size is 44 cm in length, 35 cm height and 15.5 cm width.

Tummy Time Idea
An excellent idea for tummy time, however our baby girl (4 months) is probably too young as the spinning sensation currently frightens her - will keep trying it with her but expect it will be a couple more months before she really gets some quality use and fun out of the spinner - that said she is quite happy using the mat for playtime with the various mirrors and attached activities.
great idea, age guide not quite right though
My parents bought this for our son for Christmas, and although it says ages 0-6 months on the box he's only just beginning to be able to use it now at 3 months. Previously he was too small & his arms and legs couldn't even reach the floor, let alone spin the turntable! A more accurate age guide would probably be 2-3 months up. That said the colours are really bright and catch his attention and the mat has a number of activities to play with even without the turntable, including a mirror, a crinkly leaf, and a peek-a-boo bug.
Edit: my son is now 9 months old and never used the turn table as by the time his arms and legs had the strength and co-ordination to move it around he was too big for it and could also roll over on his own and therefore fall off. The mat itself is a great hit with him though as he loves exploring all the activites. In conclusion you may be better off just buying an activity mat as in my experience the turn table itself isn't really suitable for any age bracket :(
tummy time play
I bought this after hearing about how important "tummy time" is, this must be a bit of a new concept as i was never told of it before with my older children, so i immediatly bought this. The mat is slightly smaller than i thought it was going to be, but it is very colourful and really catches my daughters attention, she is only 16wks but can spin it the whole way round. The longest she will stay on it is 5-10 mins, which isnt long, but i suspect as she gets older she will use it more, its worth mentioning that since we got this she has been sleeping much better, and i think that this along with her jumperoo totally tire her out and she now sleeps all night through. I think its a good purchase and not too expensive, if she uses it more in the coming months then it will be worth the money.
