Album Description
It is surprising that no CD has before been produced devoted to the talent of the lovely American soprano Doretta Morrow. A well known name from the musical stage, both in America and Britain, she came to stardom in such great Broadway shows as "The King And I" and "Kizmet", later starring with Mario Lanza in the film "Because You're Mine", and in the prestigious TV production of the musical "Marco Polo". Sadly, she died fairly young, but in her short career she made a number of very fine recordings, and gained many admirers. Most of her recordings are at last available on one CD - many for the first time.

Having gained success on the musical stage, her recordings were almost all from the repertoire of the great musicals, so we have songs from "Carousel", "The King And I", "Kizmet", "Naughty Marietta:, Mademoiselle Modiste", "The Desert Song", "Marco Polo". Here too is her "Because You're Mine" duet with Lanza (first time on CD), and also duets with other top singers, Nelson Eddy, Felix Knight, John Raitt, Alfred Drake among them.

Produced in sparkling sound, all tracks have been digitally remastered.
