Customer Reviews
Mellow
This album is the one you listen to with a chilled bottle of wine on a hot summers evening .... heaven
Excellent
Andy Williams has been singing since the 50's when everyone was used to singing alongside a full orchestra, like other well known singers of that time, (Matt Monroe, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra etc).
Andy is known for his ballads he sung; although he did some slightly faster songs as well He has a lovely melodic voice which had a lovely tone, he has a distinctive voice which when any of his music is played anywhere a fan of his can tell instantly. :-)
I have many off Andy Williams albums on vinyl and cassette. Some of albums I haven't heard for a couple of years as I haven't been able to get them on CD which is a great shame.
What attracted to me to this album was all my favourites were on it plus a couple that I hadn't got, (House of bamboo, Wives and Lovers and Something Stupid). :-)
If you've never heard many of Andy Williams but love this kind of music with a full orchestra this is a good album to get, as it has a lot of his different styles on and a lot of his well songs.
I love this album and as a huge fan I'll be playing this album a lot. :-)
It's Ok but....
It's OK but ...where is 'Almost There'?
Come on, lets face it Andy Williams albums played at the right time were the best 'snogging' records going. In the 1960's I carried the 'Almost there' album under my arm whenever I was to meet a girlfriend...he was SMOOOOTH.
Seriously, he does have a good voice which is relaxing to listen to and if you are able to forget his TV shows with 'Big bird' et all you should be able to listen to this CD with the woman in your life and relax because Andy's music was made for that.
The only exception to my comments is was when I saw the film ' Days of Wine and Roses' with Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick, a harrowing film about alcholism, his song on the soundtrack was almost tear jerking...had I not been a man.... Though I still can't hear the song without remembering the film. Great song or great film...whatever, both....
This album is a worth while buy....so many good songs sung in Andy Williams own style.
Snog on....11/10
