A Battery and World Travel Charger kit which provides a cost effective alternative to the original Panasonic VW-VBG130 camcorder battery on the models shown in the product title. This will NOT work on Panasonic other camcorders.

The rechargeable lithium ion battery pack has been specifically designed to replace the Panasonic VW-VBG130 battery; PowerPlanet rechargeable battery packs feature the latest battery technology, the highest quality components, and meet or exceed the manufacturers specifications.

The compact plug in travel battery charger comes with a car lighter cable and a slide on UK 3 pin mains plug, but is worldwide voltage compatible, so can operate from 100-240v 50/60Hz mains. It can charge branded Panasonic original VW-VBGxxx batteries as well as the included PowerPlanet battery.

PLEASE READ
Panasonic VW-VBG130/260 batteries have a built-in data chip which sends the remaining battery life back to the camcorder. The chip, with it's encrypted software on-board, cannot be copied outright due to patents Panasonic own, so we are forced to get around the protection in other ways. The solution we are selling does not send the battery life to the camcorder (as this is the part the encryption covers); this feature can only be gained if you buy an original Panasonic battery. The replacement battery can only be charged on the supplied charger; charging it on any other charger will damage it beyond repair. The supplied charger can charge the included battery as well as Panasonic original VW-VBGxxx batteries. The kit comes with a two plastic lugs which must be placed onto the DC socket of the camcorder before installing the replacement battery - trying to use the battery without fitting these will cause the camcorder to display the message: "This battery cannot be used".

GREAT VALUE!
I purchased this product for my Panasonic SD9 Camera and it arrived two days later which was perfect because I was going on holiday that weekend and I required an extra battery. This battery is great value as not only is it half the price of the original panasonic version but also comes complete with a travel adaptor and charger. i think the instructions could be a little more clearer regarding the plastic log that is required to fit in the camera's dc input before the battery can be used.If you do not use this log the camera will inform you that"this battery cannot be used with this camera." With the log in place it works perfectly but you then loose the battery energy life indicator on your screen. The only thing you must also be careful about is that you must not charge this battery in your original panasonic charger, so make sure you take the powerplant charger with you on holiday as it also charges the original panasonic battery. The travel charger is also a little loose when fitted into the provided travel adaptor but this is only a slight niggle and not one to put you off buying this battery as a cheaper alternitive to the Panasonic original.

Very good product
Although it was offered as compatible with VW-VBG130, and not sure if it works with the latest generation HDC camcorder allergedly with clever checks for battery level that these compatibles would not cope. But nicely surprised that it works fine with my new HDC-SD200. So should work with all the other HDC-xx200 / 100 series.

Doesn't even need to use the specifically supplied bit's to fool the other Panasonic camcorders. On the other hand, should that be needed, the supplied bit's to fool the round pin on older camcorder would not have worked on these HDC-xx200 series, which have digital type power supply connector. I wonder in that case, would the standard 3 pin jumper usually used on PC motherboards have done the trick.

Have it only for a couple of weeks, so don't know if the power / it'll last long. Will test it soon on an excursion.
