Customer Reviews
A few small problems on an otherwise good product.
I don't often write product reviews, but this one is an exception due to the initial problems I encountered, which I thought I should share with you.
The only unresolved problem I have is that I cannot get the "EL Backlight" to work... if there is one. The instructions say "(Optional)" but then displays a tick next to this model, a mysterious "*" that leads no-where, and an explanation on how to operate it. But no light yet. So if you know how to turn it on, let us know please!
Setting up is pretty easy, the instructions are clear and logical.
Its functions are excellent, allowing you to even edit the Odometer to account for any journeys you made without it.
However, the saved max speed achieved has been thrown easily a couple of times, and has displayed over 60mph (I wish!!), which I think is caused by some electrical interference. But this is easily re-set to 0.
Which brings us to the main problem, which is that it cannot be placed next to a bike light; or at least not an LED light. I don't know if this is a common problem for all wireless computers, but if placed next to a flashing LED lamp it measures the pulses from the LEDs as your speed, which allows you to achieve an impressive constant 45mph. Put the LED lamp on constant and you suddenly stop dead to 0mph.
Moving the devices to the extreme ends of the handlebars seems to fix the problem.
I wouldn't let this stop you from buying this product however, since its rather good otherwise.
Does the job
I have been cycling with this for a few weeks now. Seems the do the job perfectly adequately for a reasonable price. Easy to fit and gives a good range of functions.
