Expected better
Yes it wasn't expensive to buy but I at least expected a bike that worked. Not difficult to assemble, but found myself paying a bike specialist to sort out the brakes AND gears before I could even ride it down the street. The gear changers (grip-shift) were so stiff that I got them changed, and the spring chain loader at the back is also poor quality. The back brakes hindered the movement of the rear wheel (even on a loose setting) so I got them changed. These adjustments didn't break the bank but cost me in time and hassle. The frame itself and the tyres are OK. Next time I'll pay that bit extra for a decent bike!

Second Time Lucky?!!!! Ohhhh almost!!!!
Brought this bike already prepared that for such a good price the quality may not be the best but as i live in Oxford i did not want to pay a lot of money for a bike that inevitably will be stolen in the space of weeks!!!

The first bike arrived rather promptly after about a week. Packaged well and with all the bits in the box it started quite promising. A few easy bits to attach - pedal, saddle, front wheel etc etc and the bike was good to go.... or so we thought. Two minutes later the whole of the rear derailluer had twisted into the spokes of the back wheel so badly that the wheel came to an immediate stop and was clearly a write-off! Although annoying, the worst thing was that it could have caused a very nasty accident if i wasnt just testing the bike on the front drive. With a few minutes of searching for the refunds procedure and repacking the bike we were patiently awaiting a replacement which turned up another week later. We were hoping that maybe the first one was just a bad egg!

This time a little more cautious before jumping on and riding into the sunset we thoroughly checked the gears which on closer inspection were clearly out of sync. My boyfriend spent two hours trying to sort them before giving up and taking the bike to Halfords and paying £27.50 to have them make the gears usuable. The bike mechanic at Halfords said to us that the bike was in no fit state to ride and it had taken him longer than any other bike that week to sort out!

Overall if you are buying a bike at this price you would be stupid not too realise that you are compromising a little on quality but that said it arrived promptly and now it is running suits my needs perfectly. Just dont expect to ride this bike straight out of the box and without getting your wallet out once more!!!
