- Excellent bluetooth support
- Super fast HSDPA 3G connection
- Nice screen with auto tilt support

I'm a Sony Ericsson fan and I really love my w760i despite its faults (I've had mine in for repair) its still a fantastic all purpose phone that will pretty much do anything you ask of it. If you're looking to buy a w760i or you already own one here's a few words of advice that you can take or leave as you wish.
1. ALWAYS TRY BEFORE YOU BUY, get a feel of the phone in your hands, is it what you expected it to look/operate like? You can always go to a shop and do this even if you're not buying from there.
2. UPDATE THE SOFTWARE ON THE PHONE TO THE LATEST VERSION, pretty much all the freezing/restarting complaints on this page can be traced to older versions of the software. You can download everything you need to do this from the Sony Ericsson site or if you don't feel up to it, just ask a tech savvy friend to help you.
3. KEEP THE PHONE MEMORY AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE, one of the main causes of sluggish performances. Move all pictures, video, ringtones, music, texts, emails and programs to the memory card - trust me this actually works!
4. TREAT THE FASTPORT CONNECTOR WITH CARE until Sony Ericsson wakes up and smells the coffee with regards to putting a miniUSB connector and a 3.5mm jack socket on their phones we're stuck with their standard multipin FastPort connector. Used for charging, music, wired handsfree and data connections the contacts buckle easily if roughly treated, the W760i suffers badly for this (I've just had mine repaired under warranty). To avoid this as much as possible always push the connector gently and evenly into the socket, when removing the connector hold the phone face up towards you and gently push the connector FROM BEHIND towards you. Be careful, don't dangle the phone by the connection cord or force the phone into a tight pocket or case with a connector in place. If the fastport glitches (repeatedly connecting and disconnecting onscreen) when anything is connected to it, (stereo handsfree, charger, data cable) you need to take it to a service center as soon as possible (trust me - it will get worse the longer you leave it).
5. GET AN UNLIMITED 3G DATA PLAN ALLOWANCE ON YOUR NETWORK, the w760i comes pre-loaded with some great applications such as; Track Id, Wayfinder Navigator, Netfront Web Browser and Google Maps. All these depend heavily on the 3G data connection on the phone, go on - treat yourself!
6. FOR EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE GET AN EMERGENCY CHARGER, if you're like me you use your phone heavily whilst on the move, thus thrashing the battery to a pulp. You can buy an emergency charger from eBay that will revive a dead w760i from a single AA alkaline battery or keep you talking or SatNav'ing for at least an hour - essential piece of kit for today's mobile phone user.
7. GET A SCREEN PROTECTOR AND A CASE this is the only way to go if you want your phone to keep its' looks.
In conclusion the w760i is a solid performer, you'll be amazed what you can do with just one device.
FINE AT FIRST BUT BEWARE
I have been a fan of the Sony Ericsson Walkman phones for a while now and even when other brands bought out their music phones I stayed loyal to Sony however be very wary when buying this phone. I bought it when it first came out last summer (2008)after falling in love with it's design. Everything was good to start off with, (although to be honest I'm not really into half the gadgets that come with the phone, my main priorities are phone, txting, photos, video and music)but in the last month or so I have had more and more things go wrong with it. First of all it would freeze when txting, then it would take a while to turn on, then it would turn on but not pick up any of the items that had been loaded onto the phone; music, photos, video's etc. The latest thing that is happening is that it keeps turning itself on and off and only stays on a minute at a time if i'm lucky. Despite what other people say the battery does not hold it's charge and I am having to recharge it everyday even if it has just been in standby mode and not used at all.
I know I am not alone and have since read other reviews on other sites which have not been too glowing. It has put me off buying a phone as soon as it comes out and I'm not sure if the next time I change my phone it will be a Sony Ericsson. I did phone up Sony and was told to do a master reset but that means I will loose all the data I have put on it. I'm trying to copy the files but because it keeps turning it's self off every minute it's becoming a very frustrating exercise.
Anyway just wanted to write a review to warn people to do their homework before purchasing this phone and if you do buy it make sure you back up your files regularly!
Great phone
If you want an inexpensive, great sounding, and decent looking phone, go for this. If you want to text like crazy and have big chunky fingers like me - dont.
Camera is OK. Music sound is good, speach volume is good, takes a tiny M2 card that can be upgraded, easy to negotiate around the buttons.
A decent phone at a decent price. Small and compact. Alhough it says Black, mine actually turned out to be silver.
