Manufacturer's Description
That there are so many different versions of the ‘match and get rid of your cards’ format is testament to Whot's enduring appeal. In Whot! players have to match the shapes or numbers to get rid of their cards. Play it anywhere except in the library!
Six cards are dealt to each player, the remaining cards become the draw pile. The first player places any one of their cards face up next to the draw pile. This is the ‘call card’, and, as cards are placed on top of this, they become the call card. On each players turn, they must place a card on top of the call card. This must have either the number or symbol in common with the current call card. If this is not possible, a player must take a card from the draw pile. A Whot! card will help you out of any sticky situations, as this can be placed on any calling card. It also puts you at an advantage as you can then declare what symbol must follow, often to the hindrance of your opponents. The game ends when one player has no cards left. Its easy to play and great fun.

Best Game Ever!
This was one of my favourite games growing up. Now as a mum, my 6 and 8 year have discovered this game and really love it too. It is very simple to pick up and have a quick game and it really brings out the competitive edge between the adults and children. Children have just as much chance as winning and you don't have to do the usual 'pretend to lose' as an adult to maintain peace relations in the house.
It is educational as children have a hand of cards and have to match shapes or numbers to the game pile, they also have a 'decision' to make when they get one of the magic whot cards in choosing which shape to change to next (the theory is they choose a shape they have most cards with), they also have to pick up cards if they are unable to place a card on their turn.
It does require some patience and taking turns but unlike most dice games which my children soon get bored with or forget whose turn is next this game is fast moving and fun. The joy of holding a Whot card is amazing for a 6 year old!
Very highly recommended, especially for younger children 6+.
Whot a great game
Very simular to uno this is a seriously addictive game. have tried a few of the other winning move games in this series and this is my favourite. Easy to learn with a simple tallying of the points left at the end of the game and the first to 99 points is out.
My 12 year old son beats me nearly every time (think he hides cards under the sofa cusions) but still doesn't stop me playing. Absolute life saver for them rainy days in the caravan at Cleethorpes!
So glad I found this.
How come I never knew about this? We went on holiday a few weeks ago and stopped off at a friend's house. Within minutes their 3 year old son had taught my 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son to play this. When we arrived at our cottage we discovered a pile of games and Whot! was amongst them. Given the rain we played it nonstop all week - a slightly simpler version without scoring and with displaying the cards for the children - and then each evening the 5 adults played it for hours... It's great. I am definitely going to purchase a box for our use at home. I reckon it can be played with minimal help from 2 and with no help from about 4 yet it still has great value for adults too. I can't believe I've only just discovered it.
