Review
Fancy a dose of Twin-Guitars? Then you should try to get the debut-CD of this quintet's from York in England, because you will get twin guitars (and more) free to your home. This CD with 5 tracks already sounds so good that a contract with a publishing company should only be a question of time. Morpheus Rising was only founded last year but the material could be 25 years old as well. So if you fancy good-mood-Rock/Metal in the tradition of some Late-NWOBHM-combos with special emphasis on meaningful songwriting and very good work on the Guitar (just listen to the solo in 'save the day'), remember the name MORPHEUS RISING. --Rock Hard magazine, Germany.
Review
Fighting Man has a particularly strong bass, almost acting as a counterpoint to the driving rhythms of the drums. It starts off as a bit of a slow burn, but when the guitars take off there's almost a touch of Dragonforce about the riffing. --gracefuldegradation.com
About the Artist
MORPHEUS RISING are a 5 piece rock act from York, England, whose music is a fresh take on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the classic British twin guitar rock sound made famous by the likes of Iron Maiden and Def Leppard, dragging it kicking and screaming to the new age. Having released an uncharacteristic single, the acoustic An Ordinary Man, in aid of HELP for HEROES in October 2008 the band went on to capitalise on the extensive radio airplay on independent and internet radio stations around the world by releasing their demo EP, The Original Demos 2008, in December of that year. This release, including the first 5 demos recorded by the band, has sold consistently through outlets such as iTunes and also in CD format from the band s own online store. Using all of the tools available in this new era for the music industry the band have established an extensive fanbase throughout the UK and beyond with consistent hits from Europe and the continental United States. The band have featured in several independent rock music Top 10 s including Broadjam.com (No. 3) and textatrack.co.uk (No. 1) and have consistently been in the UK Metal Top 30 on Reverbnation.com. Earlier this year they were named as one of the top 3 new metal acts of 2009 on German rock forum sacredmetal.de, the following month receiving 8/10 in a review of the EP in German rock magazine Rock Hard.

Great Song, Great Band and for the Best Cause!
The very first thing that should be said is that all profits from this release are going to Help the Heroes and the British Legion Poppy Appeal. But that is not all that makes this an essential buy.
Fighting Man is a thundering riff-laden rock track that captures the essence of what it means to be a soldier fighting for your country. Morpheus Rising know what they are talking about, with a serving soldier in the band!

Pete Harwood - Guitar GOD!
If you only buy one single this year, make it this one. Morpheus Rising are fast becoming one of Britain's most talked-about Metal bands and with good reason - a massive rhythm section, a powerful vocalist at the mike and a genuine, no-frills tag-team of twin guitars that relies on very real talent.
This is no cheap re-hash of your traditional Iron Maidenisms, nor a shabby parody of all that was unique about Thin Lizzy. Sure, MR are well-informed by these two bands but are forging a style and ploughing a furrow all of their own.
Seriously, keep an eye out - they may well be the next VERY big thing.
Fighting Man by Morpheus Rising - a gem of a single for the most worthy of causes.
At last!
First heard this band last year when they brought out "An Ordinary Man" which along with it's video on YouTube was very moving. It was not released as a CD so now I have a physical CD rather than just a download. I'm delighted they've included last years song on the CD.As all the proceeds from it's sales are for Forces charities I think getting two songs is great value. I hope they do really well with their sales.
