Product Description

Packed with big hair, big tashes, but not so big shorts, The BIG Match is a nostalgic trip down memory lane, revisiting an era in which families across the land would huddle around the TV every weekend to watch live football beamed into their living room. Anchored by Brian Moore, this DVD will transport you to a time when football really was a funny old game; Keegan s perm was considered the height of fashion; players showed more leg than a bucket of KFC; and the smell of bovine based drinks consumed the terraces of St James Park. So pick a spot in front of the telly for an afternoon of entertainment delivered with the charm, wit and style oozed by Brian Moore and Jimmy Hill, and revisit classic action from the best of The BIG Match as the likes of Pop Robson and Malcolm Macdonald bang them in.

Customer Reviews

Good stuff, but where are the other classics?3
A highly enjoyable and worthwhile DVD, with some great action, the best of which features the team from the early to mid seventies. It's easy to forget what a flamboyant and talented group of individuals they were, and when they gelled as a team, they were unstoppable: Just witness the 5-0 demolition of Chelsea. However, my quibble is the exclusion of two games ITV originally broadcast which must be in their archives, namely the 4-3 against Forest and the 2-0 against Burnley from the 73/74 FA Cup run: Any United fan would want top see these two games, and indeed the Burnley semi-final has been shown on ITV4's Big Match programme I believe. Still worth having, but these would have made it a 5 star product.
