For the first time, an English-speaking audience can appreciate the true nature of this famous, classic chess book as this brand-new translation recreates the author's original intention. Not to have read "My System" is regarded as a shocking gap in a chess player's education, but English speakers had only poor translations that toned down or even deleted many passages because the translators feared Nimzowitsch's famous biting wit would be controversial. Nimzowitsch's ideas about how to play better chess have had a profound influence on modern chess thinking. It is commonly agreed that almost every chess master in the world has studied Nimzowitsch's work. This is the first new English translation in decades. This is the first new English translation in decades and, unlike previous translations, does not censor or dilute the author's writing.

A chess master at work
My System is written by a GM and it shows! There is not a single wasted sentence. This is not a book to browse through and expect to absorb much - it needs to be studied. If you make that commitment it will offer more than can be absorbed in a single reading! Whatever your chess level, it will offer you new insights into the game of chess.
Many books since it, but none like it
Every chess master has read this book.
Every player wanting to understand the positional beauty of the game should read this book.
Every player wanting to pick up endgame wins by learning the power of your rook (or rooks) on the opponent's seventh rank should read this book.
Every player wanting to learn how to combat against or fight with an isolated queen pawn should read this book.
Every player who wants to learn how a blockading of a passed pawn is part of defense should read this book.
The prose is less turgid that the original translation, for which I am glad. If you are of average level, buy this book. If you are a beginner, this book is difficult.
Excellent!
This Master Piece by Aron Nimzowitsch is one of the best books on Chess Strategy. This book is devided into 2 parts. Part 1, teaches you "the elements" and part 2 teaches you about Positional Play. At the end of the book there are 50 games to be shown as an example to the topics in part 1 and 2. You will definitly think differently about chess and your ratings will raise. Sometimes by playing a game I think " What would Nimzo play here" and I try to play a bit in "Nimzo style" with some success. Maybe a small drawback is that it is a bit difficult to read. Maybe not for the native English speaker but to anyone else.
Additionaly to this book i recommand buying the book: "Secrets of modern Chess strategy" this book is the so call Modern Version of my system.
To my conclusion: Great Book! And belongs definitly in everyone's chess library.
