A superb Shakespeare collection
A truly superb collection of Shakespeare's complete works. Presented in a magnificent hardback cover, this is a collection of Shakey's finest edited by Howard Staunton between 1857 and 1860. It is a true collector's item and one that would stand proudly on any bookshelf. With 19th century illustrations and comments provided by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Samuel Johnson among others, it is a piece of work that is very hard to match in its grandeur. Each play is preceded by a small introduction and followed by illustrative notes on the play and then comments about the work by 19th century literary giants. A small life story of Shakespeare and additional extras are provided at the back of the book. This is a fantastic addition to any reader's collection. And of the many editions of Shakespeare's complete works, this is definitely up there with the best.
