Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
The story of Barnes Wallis' Bouncing Bomb. The obsessive engineer devised a bomb that would be able to bounce on water and knock out two of Germany's most vital dams. Using testimonies of the surviving Dambusters and original archive footage of the bomb trials, this documentary is a fascinating story of invention and perseverance.

Customer Reviews

Wrong thing but pleasantly surprised4
I did order this thinking it was the film but was not disappointed as like the other reviewer i remember seeing this on TV and would have still ordered it.

Some of the disc details may be incorrect it Say's it is All Regions but according to my disc software it is region 2 only, also the aspect ratio is 1.33:1 but when i play the disc it triggers my TV's Widescreen mode indicating that it is actually 16:9 anamorphic Widescreen.

A modern take on a daring raid5
The programme examines the background and difficulties involved with the dambusters raid in WWII. With archive footage and testimony from some of those involved, the programme seeks to recreate the raid using modern-day aircrew and a flight simulator to see if they can achieve the same results.

Very interesting programme, but not the feature film of the same name. Watch this and the film!

Documentary, not feature film.3
I've seen this documentary before, on British TV. It's an interesting study of the background and execution of one of the most famous bombing raids of all time.

However, feature film it ain't, so don't buy this disk on the strength of the other review here, it's erroneous! The review of the film is spot on, just not valid here.
