I'm a keen amateur photographer. Having bought a cheap Argos photoframe, wanted a device that would rival wall hung prints (10" x15") that display our best pictures.
The HP provides a 8" x 6" picture adequate for most pictures in a large living room but a bit larger would have been better to get the best from landscape views.
Quality is good and rivals a print. On some pictures, especially where there is little contrast, the photoframe is better than a print because it is lit so well.
Horizontal viewing angle is not bad with little reduction in colour depth and contrast up to +- 45 degees so it can be easily positioned in a room and be visible. It seemed more sensitive to vertical angle where contrast seems to reduce quickly on darker pictures but lot better than our Argos frame.

We liked the long slide show intervals (up to 24 hours) which we use as a background picture of our favorite pictures with out the distraction of a changing picture every few seconds. But 1min 1hr and 24hr options are a bit limited although other devices we looked at did not have these long interval times.

The device is easy and intuitive to work. Many are awful - the Argos device we have is so complex you have to get out the manual to do anything. The remote controller works well and is a simple user interface.

Sizing the pictures to fill the picture frame works OK. The optimal setting seems to sensibly crop the picture but I found some weird results with pictures I had processed and cropped. But compared to the panoramic Argos device which stretched pictures to fit the screen with sometimes hilarious results it works acceptably well. You can't mix landscape and portrait because a portrait with the frame in a landscape orientation just looks awful.

Copying from plug in memory to internal memory is tedious and since you can download by direct link to computer I don't know why you would do this.

The movie and stereo speaker facilities were amusing but not really what we wanted - if you wanted to show a movie why would you not just do this on your PC or over you TV. I felt I was paying for an unneccesary feature but they all seem to have it.

Overall it provides good quality images that rival print enlargements, especially if you are unable to hang pictures where they are well lit. The HP is a lot better than the cheapy devices we have tried but I feel it is over priced for what it does. But that seems true for most photo frames.

Great product but had to return it.
I ordered this photo-frame for my wife for Christmas. Unfortunately it arrived with a power pack with what looked line a 2 pin shaver type plug, which was a bit disappointing when it was unwrapped. I did try it out using a 2 - 3 pin adapter and what I saw looked great. It looks like a nice piece of furniture and shows pictures very will - bright, clear and colourful.
Amazon couldn't provide me with the correct 3 pin power pack for the UK and advised me to return the whole thing, which I did.
Very strange but be warned. (Return process worked very well BTW.)
Have now given my wife an iPod Touch instead (also ordered from Amazon), which she tells me is what she wanted all along!
Would consider one of these photo-frames in the future if they sort out the power supply.
