    A really good buy5
My first laptop after several Desktop PCs and it is excellent.
Very quick start up and set up was easy though a bit of previous PC knowledge would help.
I prefer a mouse to the touchpad and bought a wireless mouse which works brilliantly.
Acer make initial back ups and a recovery disk easy to burn.
Immediate wireless connection to my main PC and internet connection very fast.
Windows 7 is great - no one should worry about moving up from Vista.
All in all a first class product and I am well pleased with it.

    Excellent5
Not sure if this is a review of the laptop or Windows 7.

Either way you can chose with complete confidence.

First it's a big thanks to Amazon for prompt delivery as promised.

Windows 7 is an enormous relief after the sluggish take-all-day grief inflicted by Vista.

Setting up was a real breeze. I connected everything up to the laptop and the only hitch was finding new drivers for a rather elderly Epson scanner. No problem. No driver disc was needed for the printer and the internet connection was simply a matter of entering the previous Netgear login code. Up and away!

Having had an Acer machine previously I had no hesitation in sticking with the same brand.

    Absolutely delighted!

    Acer Aspire is pretty ace5
I am a total freek when it comes to purchasing a new gadget such as a laptop, and I did A LOT of research on what components I wanted in it, what size it was, and what the appearance was like.

This laptop is excellent. It is very quick, with it's T6600 processor, and 4mb RAM. It also has a dedicated graphics card, which helps complex graphics run smoother and quicker. The 320gb storage is also massive. I know there are laptops with 500gb out there, and I was concerned that it wouldn't be enough since I have an HD camera and plan to store vidoes and photos on it, but it's coping no problem - I have over 200gb left. Be aware that when you look at the memory in the file directories, it will say x gb remaining of 288 available. Not sure why, but think it's due to formatting and partitioning etc. Not a big deal to me and I suspect will be similar depending on whatever size you get.

Appearance is really nice. The top is a shiny blue (yes, prone to finger prints but so what - they can be wiped off). The keyboard and surrounding is a matt grey - it feels robust and no nonsense. Build quality is probably 4.5 out of 5. There is a tiny tiny bit of creak on mine, but 4.5 out of 5 says it all - ie it's still very very good.

I'd recommend this laptop to anyone willing to listen and I'm one of the most pedantic and fussy of shoppers on this kind of thing.

    Hope that helps.
