resonable upgrade of ageing systems
The chip is well packaged so it will not take damage and a heat sink is also included in the box. The included directions where very clear with the use of diagrams and where printed in several languages. Installation was very easy as the thermal compound was pre-applied to the heat sink so all that was needed was to slot the chip into the socket (it can only fit in one was due to key pins to protect the chip) and clip the heat sink into place.
This product was bought as an upgrade to a AMD Athlon x2 4200+ and has shown a noticeable increase in performance in processor intensive applications. The fan included with this purchase was a pwm fan (4 pin) but is backwards compatible with a non-pwm (3 pin) connector. As not all athlons come with pwm fans and my equipment can use a pwm fan this was a bonus.
