    First Review5
When looking for a new monitor, I was looking for something that could double up as a monitor for my PC but also something that could be used for my PS3. I needed something with an HDMI connection, which this has, and also the DVI and VGA connections, which this has again. I was looking at a few different ones for a couple of weeks, including the Asus and a Samsung or two. This was a tenner more than the Asus and the Asus had had 7 positive reviews whereas this had no reviews at all. So I was leaning towards the others. But as the monitor I was replacing was an Acer that had served me very well, I decided to go for this. And I am very pleased I did. Out of the box, the monitor is very thoroughly wrapped and protected and easy as anything to set up. Simply just placing it in the stand. I was a bit concerned at the lack of buttons on the front but, when the power comes on, they pop up as lights on the front panel. It was very impressive! I plugged my PS3 in and I was extremely pleased with the picture. I've been playing Killzone 2 on it and the game looks unbelievable. And I'm sure I'm better at COD4 now I have such a sharp monitor. I can see those details that little bit quicker. The menus are easy to go through and any resolution changes need to be done on your PC or PS3, although it does tell you what resolution you're currently at. My friend expressed a concern at the picture cutting out every now and again but this is never when you're using it, only when the monitor changes the resolution, which of course it will do when you go from 720p game to 1080p movie. There's a very slight backlight bleed which shows itself as those paler edges at the top and bottom of the picture but this doesn't concern me at all. The vast majority of things on the screen are full-screen and the effect while watching films is so minimal as to be near non-existant. One thing I noticed on my housemate's LG 37" tv was that images remain on the screen slightly when the screen changes to black where there was once colour. Like little ghostly images or screen burn. This does not do that at all. The picture is truly sharp and very impressive. I haven't been able to switch it off really, always wanting to play my blu-ray films or play my games on it. It does have speakers but these are pretty tiny. Though I can't imagine anyone buying this without getting hold of external speakers. They are a necessity. The monitor only accepts headphones but of course your sound will come out of the PC or through the PS3 lead with the little red and white plugs. So I'm very, very pleased I made this choice. It felt like a bit of a leap with so few reviews available but I've made the right choice. It's brilliant. Just make sure you dust it often, the shiny surfaces are like magnets for it!

    Awesome!!5
Only one other review for this product so a bit of a leap into the unknown. Wanted to replace a rather tired and old Benq monitor. So many to choose from but the other review plus the Acer reputation persuaded me to go for it.

Ordered on Monday and delivered on Thursday. Ten minutes and it was up and running. The picture quality is unbelievable especially at 1920x1080 and I cannot see any dead pixels. The menu system is very straight forward as well and I like the illuminated controls.

All in all I cannot fault this screen and it is definitely great value for money.

Excellent monitor: good specs and great price5
I brought this monitor to replace a faulty HP monitor which I had been using for a couple of months with my xbox 360. What can I say? After a week of regular use I fully recommend this monitor to anyone who wants to get into HD gaming. Full 1080p over HDMI and VGA, great image, very easy to set up and use and proper 16.9 ratio which means you can display xbox 360 and ps3 images at full resolution without black borders (which is common when using other PC monitors which have a strange native resolution, including my old HP).

One small point is that the monitor is advertised as a 22" monitor, but it is actually 21.5" and clearly states this on the packaging. Perhaps something amazon needs to change in their product description?

Overall I would rate this monitor very highly for the price; higher than my old HP (model no: w2207h) and it is thirty quid cheaper!
