Manufacturer's Description
Introducing the Acer Aspire One D250, designed for complete connectivity on-the-go
Following the success of Acer’s Aspire One A series which fast became the world’s most popular netbook, the D series now improves on this winning formula with increased performance from Intel’s Atom N270 processor and a larger 10.1” CrystalBrite widescreen display.
Truly portable computing
Acer’s newest compact netbook is built to enhance your mobile lifestyle, just 1” thin and feather – light weighing from only 1.11 kg and boasting up to 6-hour battery life for extended fun and productivity while you're on the move!
With a larger 89% size keyboard and newly redesigned front track pad buttons the D250 makes typing emails and internet browsing pain-free.
Widescreen 10.1” Screen for broader vision and convenient navigation
The new 10.1” WSVGA high-brightness LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels offers a sharp display. With CrystalBrite technology it uses an ultra-fine, highly polished coating to achieve superior filtering and enable quicker image building as well as minimising reflection from internal and external light sources.
Integrated on top of the screen is an Acer Crystal Eye webcam which is optimized for poorly lit environments by using a high sensitivity camera. This lets you see your friends and family using instant messaging video chats.
We’ve introduced multi-gesture functionality to the Aspire One that transforms navigation into a simple, natural movement of the hand and fingers.
A simple circular finger-swirl motion lets you scroll up – or down – web pages, documents or playlists. Pinching lets you zoom in and out of the applications you use the most while swiping two fingers horizontally lets you flick through photos, web pages, documents or media albums.
Connectivity wherever you are
Whether at home, in a coffee shop or on the road, stay informed and in touch via wired, wireless or 3G connectivity options. The D250 features an Ethernet and three USB ports as standard as well as Wifi 802.11b/g with Acer Signal Up technology which enhances wireless signal by optimising the location of the antenna on the netbook allowing you to stay connected further from the Wifi base station and with stronger reception.
Selected models feature Bluetooth 2.0 allowing you to connect to a whole host of Bluetooth enabled devices. There is also the option of 3G connectivity so that you can access the internet from wherever your mobile connection allows.
Performance
Using Intel’s Atom N270 (1.60 GHz) processor made from the world's smallest transistors, the new Aspire One is more than capable in everyday tasks delivering speedy performance while maintaining long battery life.
With a large capacity 160 GB hard drive you can store hours of music and videos and whit the multi-in-1 card reader you can share photos, films and files with ease.
Stylish design
Available in four high-gloss colour options including white, blue, red and black, the slim and streamlined design immediately catches the eye and is complimented by the aerodynamically shaped metallic hinge and Multi-gesture touchpad pointing device with two buttons. Supporting Circular-motion scrolling, pinch-action zoom and page flip
Energy Efficient use
The 10” Aspire One meets Energy Star 4.0 requirements and can be equipped with a 6-cell Li-ion battery pack. With incredibly low idle power consumption, the 10” Aspire One offers up to 6 hours battery life.
Extra Software
The Aspire One comes with Windows XP® Home operating system; additional preinstalled software includes Acer eRecovery Management, Acer Launch Manager, Adobe® Reader®, McAfee® Internet Security Suite Trial, Microsoft® Office Trial 2007.
Included as standard is a comprehensive 1-year International Travellers Warranty which can be extended by 2 further years with Acer Advantage.

Acer's D250 - A Superb NetBook!
Well, What Can I Say, This Netbook has it all from the very basics, to the more advanced in-built features.
The Netbook is a very lightweight and has a strong structure. It has an excellent keyboard but a letdown to it's touchpad as told below. The WIFI is superb as well as the three USB's which makes a huge difference. Although the battery life I get is around 2 hours, the performance is superb. It runs programs such as Adobe Photoshop,Premiere and high end powered graphics software well, and to my surprise, even runs games like Counter Strike with it's in built Graphics card on low detail, but good quality! Overall, the Netbook is Simple & Easy to use!
The only let down's of this product is:
-No CD-ROM drive - Although its not necessary, you can copy the files onto another pc, and use a flash drive to install the software
-Small Touchpad - Although it has a Multi Gesture Touchpad (Which I adore! Just like the Macbook Air!) It's very small, however, I would recommend using an External USB mouse for long periods of time!
Thanks for letting me review the Acer D250
I would Highly Recommend this Netbook, it even runs XP Pro/Windows Vista as well as the upcoming Windows 7!
So far so good
I bought this Netbook as a replacement for an Aspire 150. I had to return the 150 after receiving no help from Acer regarding problems with the 150. They ignored service requests completely so I returned the unit as not fit for purpose. With the 250 I have my fingers crossed as although I didn't want to purchase an Acer product, the alternatives left me cold in terms of keyboard layout, weight, battery life etc. The problem I had with the 150 was that the mousepad left hand button failed and the WIFI kept losing connection and the m/c could only reconnect after a complete shut down. The 250 has a different mousepad and I am not experiencing any problem with WIFI. Battery life is around 3-4 hours but is much better than the 150, although of course longer battery life is claimed by acer. So I think so far so good and unless the current 150 has a different mousepad I would avoid this and buy a 250.
Does what is say's on the tin
Worked first time out the box, easy to set up good wireless connection, screen and keys a bit small but as I bought it to travel with think it does to job very well, just have to be a bit careful typing.
